how does HHN affect the parks?

We are debating btwn Oct. and Nov. 2013 for our next Orlando trip. My kids will be 10/8/6 at the time, so HHN is definitely NOT on our list of to-do's!
The week we are looking at in Oct. is the last full week of the month (i.e. prime Halloween time).
So, my questions:
1) will the parks be crazy crowded b/c of this?
2) will there be halloween theming that is scary/unsuitable for DD6? I don't mind basic halloween decor, but no blood, guts and monsters!
TIA!

i don't think the studios is scary in the daytime.

the hhn event takes place in the studios after the park is closed.
it is a hard ticket event.
it won't affect you as you will have to leave at 5:00 and hhn begins at 6:30.

ioa has nothing to do with the hhn event.

se wisconsin?
near kenosha?
Pleasant Prairie?

i'm a mile from the border.

The parks are slow-moderate; crowds are manageable during that timeframe. HHN will not affect the day crowd much at all.

There will be halloween theming, but most of the gory stuff will be covered up or be behind the scenes. There will be a lot of props in plain view, but they're just there.

Will the 'signs' for each of the houses be out.

For example - Walking Dead is going to be in the queue area of Disaster. Will there be a big walking dead sign outside this attraction. If so, my kids may be put off going into Disaster in daytime, mistakingly thinking its gonna have the walking dead in there?

Also, presume the signs for the house are quite 'graphic' (eg. the scary nurses from Silent Hill, and Alice Copper mouth all 'sewn up' - Are those haunted house signs in clear view during daytime opening?

No...the only props you'll see during the day are the ones that are simply too big to move around. Your kids will probably ask you what it is but it certainly won't scare them.

The wait time signs for the houses are brought out after the park closes. You won't even know where a house is until after HHN opens...nothing will tell you a location during the day. The houses are all hidden away from view during the day so there is nothing to worry about.

I went back and found some of my pictures from past HHNs to show you what you can expect to see outside during the day.
