How does Halloween Horror nights work?

Never been to Universal during HHN. From what I’m reading Universal will close early, 5:00 pm on the nights HHN has a scheduled event?
We have park to park tickets, so can we just move over to IOA by 5 pm and stay at that park until they close? I’m assuming Universal is the only park affected during HHN, not IOA.

Thank you for any help. We have no desire to attend this event, just trying to work around it during our trip. Sept 26-30.

Hi yes the studios will close at 5 for the scheduled event and you can hop over to IOA, just check the hours for closing I know the weekdays and weekends have different times. Yes the studios is the only one with HHN, which is nice to have an option if you don't want to do that.

I understand my DH and youngest are going their first time this year. My oldest and I will hang at IOA or the resort.

I have read that the Hogwart's Express can get a long wait when people are trying to leave Studios for Islands for HHN closure. Keep that in mind. You can always walk over if the wait is too long.
