Just got it. Installed it. Teaching myself the ins and outs.

But do you leave it "on" all the time? Wouldn't that affect my tv screen?

If you turn your TV off and the Apple TV remains on there will be no impact on your TV.

Press and hold Select for five seconds (or go to Settings > Sleep Now on Apple TV (2nd generation)

or Settings > Standby on Apple TV (1st generation)

Our Apple TV (2nd generation) automatically turns itself off when the TV is off or when we change the TV input to some other source.

Actually, if I leave my Apple TV on, my Samsung Smart Blue-Ray player cannot connect to the internet. I have to turn off the Apple TV to use the "Hub" on my Blue-Ray player.

Just realized that my second generation's light is off after I switched inputs!

I am not sure of your setup, but my xBox 360, Apple TV, blue ray player can all access the internet at the same time. I would find this slightly annoying, because while the software on a one device is downloading and updating I could not use another device.

This is probably an issue with your wireless router only letting you have a fixed number of devices connected. Typically you can log into the router and up this number.

Ooo, thanks! I'll check that when I get home! It would be nice if it was something that simple! :thumbsup2
