how do you sign up for hotel deals in Vegas?

We are going to Vegas in the fall and want some deals on rooms. Where does one sign up for some e-mail telling us.....

also where can we find a comprehensive list of when the conventions are?

What I did is go to hotels website that you might want to stay at and get on there mailing list. Also smartervegas.com has discount codes on their website. For the convention, I forgot the website but google Las Vegas conventions and I believe it's the first one that comes up, just enter your dates and it will show whats in town.
