Q-pon. You can take the gurl out of South Philly, but you can't always take South Philly out of the gurl.

I say Q pon but I don't even really know why. Nobody I know says it that way, I wasn't born and raised in an area that says it that way. Looking at the word itself it clearly makes more sense to pronounce it 'coo', but I just don't. It just never comes out that way when I say it!

Actually, a lot of times I just say Q! Like - I think I have a Q for that. So, in reality, I say it three ways, not even being aware of it.

I say q-pon. I hear a lot of people say coo-pon. By the way it's spelled, coo-pon looks like the correct way to say it.

coo pon

I have heard people call them something like coopns before, maybe they were just trying to be funny.

Just don't call it coopun!!!!!

coo as in a a baby's coo. and pun instead of pon. With all emphasis on the first syllable.
Hate that one!

I LOVE to mess with my girls and say it like this. It drives them crazy :):) I'm a coo-pon person really though!

Q-pon

Either way is fine, just like "envelope" and "on-velope", or "tomato" and "to-mah-to." It's all in how you were taught.

I say coo-pon but I hear it around here both ways.

My 80 year old Southern dad cracks me up because he says it "Q-pin." Don't know where he got that. He also says "mature" like "ma-tour" and we tease him by asking if he also should be saying "furni-tour" instead of "furniture."
