How do you order your Starbucks?

Is there a guide for ordering anywhere? I STILL don't know what the orders actually mean! Lol.

There actually IS a formula, though it is somewhat disputed. If it's iced, start with that. Then number of shots if not by recipe, then cup size, then just fill in the boxes right down the cup! There is one exception: If it is a syrup, say it with the syrup box. If it is a drink NAMED from a syrup, say it in the drink box at the end. For example:

Iced quad venti cinnamon soy latte
(Large iced latte with cinnamon, soy and 4 shots)

Versus

Iced quad venti soy cinnamon dolce latte
(Large iced cinnamon dolce latte with soy and 4 shots)

The difference is that cinnamon was a syrup. Cinnamon Dolce Latte started as a promotional drink and includes whip cream and sprinkles automatically. Hence why you say "soy caramel macchiato" instead of "caramel soy macchiato"

Having written that down, it looks more difficult than it really is! AHAHAHHAAH!

Short -- 8 oz, espresso based drinks will have 1 shot of espresso. Anything "Kids" will be a short.
Tall -- 12 oz, 1 shot
Grande -- 16 oz, 2 shots
Venti -- 24 oz, 2 shots, a lot of people will order a "triple venti" for 3 shots instead of two

Skinny -- skim milk (the default milk is 2% unless you specify skim, whole, or soy)

With whip/no whip -- with/without whipped cream

# pumps -- refers to # of pumps of flavored syrup

Latte -- espresso, sometimes flavored syrup, steamed milk, little foam

Cappuccino -- espresso, sometimes flavored syrup, steamed milk, lots of foam

Americano -- espresso and hot water

Single/double/triple espresso -- refers to # of shots of espresso

Mocha -- chocolate, anything "mocha" also usually comes with whipped cream unless specified

Peppermint, vanilla, pumpkin spice, etc. -- flavored syrup you can add to any drink

Classic -- unflavored sweet syrup

Frappuccino -- blended cold drink, coffee-based or cream-based (coffee free)

Iced -- cold, over ice (not blended)

Tar Heel being good orders a Grande Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte. If I have a free one, I get a Venti Triple Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte.

Tar Heel being bad gets a Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte, nonfat, no whip.

You would think those two drinks would be close in calories, but #1 has 3 Weight Watchers points and #2 has 7.

Except for the free one, I always get Grande b/c Tall and Venti do not have enough coffee.

Venti Green Tea Frappuccino, no whip

or

1/3 each: black tea (unsweet), lemonade, water, lots of ice.

or

peppermint hot chocolate, lots of whipped cream.

Hi Tarheel! :goodvibes

Sixteen years ago today our lives changed forever...... Here's a little something just for you:

Nonfat grande chai latte (I don't drink coffee) and very rarely, a pumpkin scone.

Thanks, bunkinsmom - I still can't watch that without getting choked up. It makes me so sad to know Dean no longer remembers all these wonderful moments. 16 years ago I was in our playroom with our three-year-old who didn't understand what I was upset about. He's now a sophomore at Carolina, and he loves it just as much as I did.

Usually a venti americano with two pumps of white mocha (the regular amount is 6 but its SO SWEET). Hot in the winter, iced in the summer.

If I'm feeling indulgent, venti java chip frappucino, with extra frapp roast in it. No whip, no chocolate syrup. That one's about 450 calories so I don't get it too often.

My current drink of a choice is a tall Ethiopia blend with soy milk and 1 sugar. I LOVE the Ethiopia blend coffee - non of the other blends appeal to me, I usually order espresso based drinks.

In the winter, I am all about a tall soy caramel brulée latte, no whip.

Other visits, I change it up depending on my mood.
Could be:
Tall Soy Mocha, no whip.
Tall iced soy mocha, no whip, light ice.
Tall soy vanilla latte
tall iced soy vanilla latte, light ice
grande passion tea lemonade, 1 pump syrup, light ice
tall mocha frappucino, no whip

DD usually orders a grande soy pumpkin spiced late, decaf., no whip extra hot.
I like a grande skinny caramel machiatto, extra hot or if I get a frappe it's a grande skinny salted caramel frappe with extra caramel! yum!

Via my son, who works there, and brings things home. I don't drink coffee, so he'll bring home a non-coffee strawberry something, or a pumpkin pastry something... so much easier than having to decide while standing there. And cheaper.

Ok all you Starbucks experts, my go-to drink is the Pumpkin Spiced Latte, but I've been wanting to try the Salted Caramel Mocha. I'm afraid I won't like it as much so I've been hesitant to order it! But I just got a coupon for $1 off, so I think I'll bite the bullet before the weekend.

Is it too sweet? I almost think the Pumpkin Latte is too sweet for me, so I've been debating asking for less syrup to see how that goes. I'd definitely order it as nonfat, no whip.

It is very sweet -- I can't drink it in the morning, it's definitely a dessert coffee for me. But gooooooooooood.
