this will be our first time at Kali Rapids, splash mountain and fantasmic ( don't know how much wet u can get in this one if any ). How do u guys keep your camera from getting wet ? I can't seem to find a big enough waterproof bag for our camera that doesn't cost a fortune.
Secondly how wet should I expect to get ? Soaking wet or just a little wet

I haven't ridden splash, that's my wife and daughters department, so I'm usually wandering around the park holding the camera on that one. As for Kali River Rapids, they either have a locker you can put your stuff in before the ride, or there is like a bag thing in the middle of the big tube you ride in that you can put stuff in and it closes shut, although I'm not sure how water tight that is.

Kali is kind of luck of the draw to decide how wet you get, personally I hardly got wet, the person sitting next to me...soaked.

Doesn't one of the food storage bag companies make a two- or five-gallon zipper bag? I just read a tip this week - put a sheet of paper in, seal the bag, submerge it in water. If the paper stays dry, you're good. You could use two bags in opposite directions for added safety.

Kali Rapids has lockers you can use. I just use a zip lock bag for the phone and camera. If I wear my poncho for SM or KRR, I just leave the camera around my neck under the poncho. I'm assuming if you can't get your camera into a large ziplock, it must be a big DSLR. No suggestion other than double bagging it with a waste basket size trash bag and using an elastic band to keep it closed

You can get soaked to the skin on KRR. I've gotten somewhat wet on Splash, other times I've only gotten a few drops.
Fantasmic? Only if you are sitting really close to the front row, and even then it depends on which way the wind is blowing.( I prefer the view from higher up)

I keep a few sizes of zip lock bags with me. They make up to a ten gallon size, I think. Lol. There are also lockers you can get at Kali. I have only been on Kali twice and I got completely soaked both times. In fact, so wet that I don't want to ride it again. I might ride it with a poncho on. I just don't like walking around that wet. Also, there is a place in the middle of the ride where you're supposed to be able to put your things in, but it was soaking wet in there and I wouldn't use it.

I use my iPhone as my camera and just put it in a Ziploc bag. Few people think to pack Ziplocs with them, but they are indispensable.

I keep a couple in my backpack, and a variety of sizes in my suitcase. You just never know when you'll need one!

I put a couple ziploc bags in my purse, and our phones and camera go in the ziploc bag in my purse before we ride a wet ride.

Thanks all and yes it is a DSLR.
LowePro sells an entire line of AW bags, which are normal camera bags with a pull-out raincoat, at prices ranging from $50 up through a few hundred, which work very well, and work as normal camera bags when you're not getting wet. Also, depending on your body and lens and their level of weather sealing, the only ride that may be an issue is Kali.

Splash Mountain you may get splashed but it's momentary, nothing a 70D or D7000 or better can't handle so long as you have a decent first party lens with some weather sealing (my D7200 and 16-85 handle it no problem), and Fantasmic doesn't get you wet at all. Kali you may come out dry, or completely soaked and drenched. LowePro's AW bags will keep your stuff dry during this, I've used them in pouring rain for hours and although I was soaked through my rain gear, my camera stayed dry.

Whereabouts at Kali are the lockers? I don't remember seeing them last year and I couldn't locate them on the AK map just now. Will definitely need one for my upcoming trip!

My iphone 6 fits great in a sandwich baggie & you can still use it while it's inside (just not for photos). I always put it in a zip top baggie before we head to the pool & don't have to worry about it getting dripped on or splashed. I didn't ride Kali last time, but my son and husband ended up decently wet, at least where their ponchos didn't cover them. I wouldn't trust my DSLR around my neck under a poncho.
