I seem to have a different opinion of the overall make-up of this board than some others do, so I wanted to poll the audience... are you conservative, liberal or moderate? Oops, maybe I should have included an option for "other". If none of the above, please explain.

I don't want my assumptions to sway the voting, so I won't explain why I ask until later.

Thanks

I consider myself a very proud fiscal conservative Republican and a firm believer in Reaganomics, but not an ultra "right wing wacko". On social issues, I almost lean Libertarian (NO...NOT LIBERAL...UGH) with my desire of getting government out of people's property and personal lives. I am also a very proud Air Force mom...Hoo-rah!!!!!

Democratic moderate, with leanings to the left socially, and to the right, economically. :)

i am a republican who feels that the buisness should be brought back to america and out of asia and mexico, because that is why welfare is so high and it would put more money in the economy plus with more money in the economy maybe less crime and robbings would occur?

I voted moderate because I tend to be more liberal on certain issues and more conservative on others. I have voted Democratic more than Republican in my voting years but not by a large margain.

I really think I have hit moderate status when here at work I am considering a raging libel but when I visit my family I am the evil Republican. How I can change so drastically in just a 7 hour drive always amazes me and confirms that I think I am a true moderate. :)

This is pretty much how I am. :)

I would guess this board would fall center-right, so I'll be curious to see results.

Of course, it's hard to use just the three choices. I would more accurately categorize myself as center-left. Fiscally conservative, socially liberal.

I consider myself moderate, although I find that I almost always vote Democratic. I personally feel that ther are more moderate Democrats than moderate Republicans (at least on the national level), but that is just my own observation!

Me too.

that pretty much sums me up.

I am an extreme left/right winger. I think there are powerful arguments on both sides of many fundamental issues, and am often frustrated at voting time, as you could probably guess!

I put moderate. I vote either party, depending on the issue or the candidate. I tend to lean towards republican, but am offended by Rush Limbaugh and the Christian Coalition. However, most here would view me as conservative politically because of my conservative values.

True "conservatives" would consider me liberal. My FIL calls me a liberal democrat.

Neither group wants me.

Depending on the issue, I'm a conservative or a liberal. Although I think that the reason for this is that the groups themselves switch their beliefs around depending on the issue. If they'd stick with certain belief systems, then I could align with one of them!

I'm a fiscal conservative and a social liberal. Meaning, get a job and take care of yourself and your family. If that family involves 2 mommies or 2 daddies, I'm all for it. I want the government not only out of my wallet, but also out of my body. I'm not religious, but I'm getting sick of hearing Happy Holidays. If it's X-Mas Day, say Merry X-Mas. During other holidays, mention the holiday - there is nothing wrong with that. It is the Holiday Season, but they are each separate and distinct and deserve to be recognized individually. Speak English if you're working here and living here. But, if you're home or talking to someone privately, speak whatever you want. I'm not offended and I don't think it's rude. If I'm not a party to the conversation, it's none of my business. I'm in favor of a work program and I don't care if they come here to make money and go home. Good for them, but enough of the fence jumpers.

I have a hard time voting because nobody represents how I feel. It's ironic since most of us here seem to think roughly the same way and, yet, none of us are in public office. We should be. :goodvibes

I can't vote on any of these. I am a true liberal, not a liberal the way people understand liberal to mean. I'm of the belief that what you do, provided it doesn't hurt anyone else, is your business (this includes, but is not limited to, drug use, prostitutes, selling organs, homosexual sex, smoking, religion, free market). This is definitely not conservative! But it's definitely not today's definition of "liberal", either.

I have typically used the 'fiscally conservative, socially liberal' description for myself. However, considering the fiscal disaster of the conservatives currently calling the shots, i will proudly cast my poll vote for liberal. :thumbsup2
