how do you get to the boardwalk?

i'm staying off site in kissimmee and don't know how to get to the boardwalk? which signs do we follow?

We followed the signs for Epcot and the Epcot resort areas.

Exactly right... also once you get to Epcot and park your car, you can walk through the park, head to World Showcase and go out the International Gateway and just walk to the Boardwalk.. We always stay on that side of WDW as we like the convenience of walking into Epcot from the Boardwalk or Beach Club/Yacht Club resort or from the Swan/Dolphin Resorts.

We too are thinking of going to the boardwalk for an evening. We are also staying off site. I do not want to go through Epcot. Is there a parking area just for the Boardwalk area?

The boat ride from Disney Studios has a drop off point at Boardwalk.
That ride is relaxing, beautiful, and the captain gives a running narrative of interesting information.

Just follow the signs for the resorts - YC/BC/Swan/Dolphin/BW. You turn by the Exxon station opposite the entrance into Disney Studios. You can self park or valet park for the Boardwalk. The guard at the guardshack will direct you to parking. Don't ride the boat over from Disney Studios. Just park at the Boardwalk.

International Gateway is the way to go if you are walking.

From that exit, which is just beyond the England pavilion, you're no more than 5 minutes from the ESPN club at the end of the boardwalk. It's literally up a hill and across a bridge.
