How Do You Get Free Dining For AP Holders?

I have yet to see a free dining promotion for AP holders. If the general public can get dicounted rooms w/free dining why do they not offer the same to AP holders? We go three, four or more times a year, it would be nice to get the free dining at least once. :confused3

We are Seasonal AP holders, Florida Residents and Disney Visa card holders. We just added on the Visa Free Dining discount, and for us it works out well. Even though we have to buy a 1 day MYW ticket, we can use that ticket against the price of renewing our APasses. Ours expire in Dec, right when we're going, so we will be renewing and using that ticket against the price of the AP.

Even if you don't have to renew right now, the ticket doesn't expire (b/c it's a 1 day ticket), and you can use it for the next time you come. For us, it works out both ways.

We saved $300 from our original AP package!!

I doubt they will ever offer it just as they don't offer it to us as Fl residents to get Fl ticket prices. We have to buy the 1 day ticket and upgrade it later. But what I learned on this past trip was to head to DTD before checking in and they will take the ticket off your ressie and do with it what you need. I asked "will I still get my free dining" I was told yes. I said "i had always heard without the ticket on the ressie it takes off the dining" He said no that has been changed. He refunded our 1 day tickets because we bought the FL play 3 pass. They did the same thing last year. But I like knowing I don't have to buy the ticket in advance, I can just stop by DTD before checking in.

We used offer code DHZ to book a Fall/Holiday Annual Passholder package - I had to call last night to add the code - its not listed on the passholder site but is listed on mousesavers. It ended up being $200.80 per night at Coronado for October 10-12 with 2 Adults and 1 Child regular dining plan included. I have no idea how they calculated that amount but a room without any discount is priced at $185.62 (standard view) and dining for us comes to $85.97 per day so we were happy--discount of about $68 per night.

Plus I didn't know we would get this but the confirmation includes the MYW package add ons:

MINIATURE GOLF VOUCHER
1 PER ROOM [ 1 ]

PLANET HOLLYWOOD MERCH. VCHR
1 PER PACKAGE [ 1 ]

SEA RAYCER OFFER VOUCHER
1 PER ROOM [ 1 ]

PLANET HOLLYWOOD $15 MEAL VCHR
1 PER ROOM [ 1 ]

I have a question for you! I just did the same thing, used the visa to get packages for Nov and Dec. so I will have 2 one day passes to use later, do you know if I can pool them toward our next seasonal pass?

What do you mean they take it off your ticket? They gave you a refund in cash? We need to hold onto ours until probably next fall when we will get seasonal passes again, should we have it taken off the room card?

Sounds like they used it to upgrade the ticket to me.

You can always save it and use it to upgrade later...

Do you know if I have 2 of these 1 day tix if I can use both of them toward a seasonal pass? We are going 2x on the disney visa offer so I will have 2 in my name.

No, they will only allow you to use one ticket to upgrade each ticket, so you can buy two upgraded tickets at one time, or save the other for the next time you upgrade.

Last December I used two 1-day passes from 2004 to lower the price of two APs we were purchasing. I just held onto the tickets and the CMs at Guest Services in DTD had no trouble applying the value of the ticket to our purchases. Just wanted to add that in case someone might not be using the 1-day tickets for a while. I view it as a kind of banking for future ticket purchases.

Cool thanks! It can't hurt to ask! :)

This caught my attention as we are looking into purchasing Annual Passes for our July 2009 trip as we are looking at going again December 2009 and then June 2010. We went last September (2007) for free dining and still have the 1 day tickets from that trip. For our upcoming July trip I booked the DDP along with 1 day passes again as we hadn't decided yet on the number of park days we wanted. Going by this post am I right in assuming I can use those 1 day tickets from September 2007 toward the price of AP's for each of us when we get there in July? I was going to purchase the APs ahead of time and take the certificates to Guest Services once we got there to exchange them for the actual passes, but if I can use those 1 day tickets toward the purchase of APs, I would be better off waiting and purchasing them once I'm there, correct??? Will I then have to hold on to July's 1 day tickets to put toward the purchase of future APs as I doubt I can use two 1 day tickets toward each AP??? I hope this isn't to confusing. TIA :flower3:.

You are correct. :goodvibes

We already have annual passes but does anyone know if I can transfer the 4 one day passes that I have to buy for my family (in order to get the Disney Visa Free Dining package) to another family member? Can he use one of the base passes each day to gain admittance to the park that we will be visiting that day or must it only be used by the person it was originally purchased for? Can he use all of them to upgrade to an annual pass for himself?
TIA!!

Technically, only the person whose name is on the room key should use the ticket, but if no one else is using the room key for admission, it will work. You can also have every ticket taken off of the room key and get 4 one-day passes that anyone can use.

They will not let you combine all of them to create one upgraded ticket, but you can take one and upgrade it. It should only cost about $125 more to upgrade to a 4-day base pass, if you don't want a park hopper or the water park pass.

Thanks for the information, I guess we can just pocket the tickets for another trip or even (here we go again....:goodvibes ) upgrade to another annual pass in the next year or so?.....:thumbsup2

Well with AP you get great room discounts basically year round and when I go the best I get is free water park add on. Whoopee! Be grateful for what you have it could be worse.
