How do you earn extra $ from home?

I spent the day surfing the site you gave me. Signed up for some Mystery Shopping and got 4 jobs already! I'm so excited!
Thanks so Much!

Going to Disney in 4 months!!! Our first Trip!!!!!

Yeah, the company has other carriers and subs to fill in. Otherwise I just ask the other paper carrier on my route for the other local paper to do it and he is willing!

The paper I delivered for I made sure allows me to deliver to the driveway instead of the door. That way I never get out of my car. I rarely get out of my car and thats just to place it on some elderly persons door.

Kimba,

Way to go! 4 shops the first day is excellent!

I've set up a separate checking account with a little "seed" money. It's easier to keep track of purchases that way.

Besides, this is how we will be paying for the next trip to the World!

I've really enjoyed it so far. I know it isn't for everyone, but it suits me well.

CuteandFluffy,

How did you know which companies are in your area? Some dont mention locations on the sites, so its hard to tell if it would be in your area.

Thanks! My mom could use this since she had a stroke. It would be a great way for her to make some money!

Most companies put it on their websites if they have geographic restrictions. It's hard to say with other companies. Some of the time you need to sign up before you can find out. A few will only allow you to apply if there is a need for shoppers in your area. Only a few do work only in California (I guess because it is such a big market) and Nevada (because the laws are kinda squirley--you need a private investigator's license!) In general, if they don't mention a restriction, I would assume they are national.

I started out by signing up for a few big companies (Beyond Hello, Service Sleuths, Service Intellegence, Customer Service Experts) that I know do work nationally.

No matter what--Keep good track of your login information.

Hope that helps!

Great Thread!

I do a little mystery shopping, test drives, pinecone research and Proctor and Gamble. Plus a few of the rewards programs, Memolink, Milesource and Mypoints.

I also do bulk mailing for the company I work for part time. It's great because it's only a few times a year and I can do it at home. I take all my mailing money and pay for my DVC dues.

The PineCone Research company site says you need to look for their pop up add to join - where can I find it? Thanks!

But I was looking at some sites for that speed dating just out of curiosity (already have a lovely DB at home!) and they seem to be consistently looking for coordinators. Unfortunately, I don't know a thing about it, but it looks like primarily you do the bulk of the work at home (finding locations, registering 'dates', etc.) and then you host the acting 'dating' night - which I would guess to be no more than 4/5 hrs of your time per event. I just emailed a couple of these places tonight to get more info on this.... but it might be worth checking out!

I just got a short term job delivering phone books. I go to the place on Wednesday, so I don't know too much yet. But it sounded like a quick way to earn a few bucks. And they let you deliver in your own area, which is nice.

I keep meaning to try mystery shopping. Thanks to all for the links and advice!!

I aquired a habit of burning candles which starting eating up my disney fund. Candles that wouldn't burn my kids (Ages 2 & 4) if they put their fingers in the wax. With a little sweet talking my consultant talked me into becoming my own boss! I am now a consultant that sells these candles. The last 2 parties that I consulted on, I made $220! The best part, I was only working for 2 and a half hours!

Going to WDW again Sept 12-21, 2003.

Staying at Contemporary and Westgate Blue Tree.

Well, if anyone is interested, here's my take on delivering phone books:

Not recommended. 30 bucks for two days work. Uh-uh. Not doing this again. Granted, I was only out for 4 hours today, but it was a tough four hours! (Plus the hour orientation and loading.) I delivered to businesses which meant lots of driving. Some were closed. Some ordered 10 phone books, but only wanted 2. I caught on early to only carry a couple in with me at a time, until I found out if they wanted all they ordered. It meant more trips, but saved my back a couple times. Unfortunately, I get paid by the number of stops and the number of books delivered, so those extra I have left will cut into my payment.

DH doesn't like the idea at all - he thinks it's too much wear and tear on my car (and me) for a measly amount of money.

So back to the drawing board. A perfect job would be data entry from home. Oh well...

well, im about to try selling avon to earn my extra disney money. i know it won't reap huge benefits, and im going to use my first months profit to advertise, ect, but every little bit helps! im going to treat it as a hobby, and if i earn a little, great, if not i have something to do to occupy myself. i have a 2 week trip planned next fall, a four night cruise, and 10 days in fl., so every little bits gonna help :p
