Do you feel like you just have to put your two cents in on every thread - repeating for the umpteenth time what others before you have said - or do you pick and choose those that you respond to?

Pick and choose.

I debated about responding to this one. :teeth:

I like threads that include everyone, and usually pass on those that are more specific, unless I know the answer. And I very rarely give advice on those asking for some, unless I have a very strong feeling that any advice I might offer will be helpful.

I pick and choose too. It depends on how much time I have.

I pick and choose and lately I have been choosing less and less only because I tend to get bored very quickly and cant sit still long enough to answer all threads.

Pick and choose, I dont sit here long enough to answer them all.:D

Definitely pick and choose. If I feel like a lot of people have already expressed my point of view on a subject then I don't bother to add my 2 cents. And lots of times I write a response and then reread it before posting and worry that it might offend someone and just use the back button and forget it. I hate the idea of hurting others so it guides a lot of my actions.

At the risk of repeating what everyone else has said, in answering this, is this part of the "two cents in on every thread" deal?

I look at the DIS as a party where most of the people are friendly and inviting. I just mingle amongst threads, stopping by to say hello or offer support, then move on.

Just my two cents. :teeth:

Yeah, what everyone else said!!!

;)

:teeth:

I put my 2 cents on every thread repeating what everybody said for the upteenth time

It kind of depends on how much time I have.

If I start a thread, I like LOTS of answers even if they are the exact same from diferent people. That way, I know what a lot of people think.

I definitely pick and choose...honestly, I'm probably a bit too choosy (is that a word?). I've been DISing for over two years and only have what? 440 posts? It's funny because I do read a lot of threads and I feel like I know alot of people here, while at the same time getting the vibe that no one has a clue who I am..LOL. So yea, I pick and choose....and hey, I chose your thread...feel honored....LOL..just kidding. :teeth:

That is a good question.

For the "debate" board I'm starting to pick and choose very wisely on what posts I will and will not repsond to. Being very stubborn and opinionated this goes against my instincts though.

On other boards though I'm likely to put in my two cents.

Mostly pick and choose. There are a few where I just jump in like the "congratulations" or "welcome to the DIS" threads. I like the fact that you can say what you want here, even if it is a carbon copy of what someone else said just a couple of posts ago. I'm on some gaming and sports boards where you get slammed and accused of trying to pad your post count if you post to a thread without offering a fresh opinion on the topic

I think I remember a while back someone felt bad for not being able to respond to every post

To be honest there are a lot of topics that just don't interest me personally. I usually don't even bother to read posts about yankee candles or soaps, because I'm not interested. Just as I'm sure some people skip the posts about sports.

I'm definately a pick and choose. On the DCL and DVC boards I read a lot more than I post, but try to post when I feel that my input can be helpful. I've been a little more free in posting to the community board as I look at this like a giant DIS meet or party and a great way to get to know people. Still having been here since 2000 and only have 700 some posts I think it shows I don't post too much.

I pick and choose......I usually like the "fluff" threads better than controversial threads......the DIS is (usually) a place for me to go after a stressful day!!!:)
