How do you DIS?

I used to respond to most of the threads on here. About 6 months ago, I just stopped doing that...now I am very picky about what threads I respond to.

"pick and choose" which posts I respond to. I don't read all the threads, as some just don't interest me. And if there are lots of responses to a post that mine would just be similar to, I don't always add my

worth. And it depends on my mood. Sometimes I'm in a "chatty" and other times I'm just more interested in reading the posts without commenting. Which is probably why my post count is so low after being a member for nearly three years.

I sort of hang out mainly on the DVC,Transportatin, and Community board, but once in a while I go to the Debate boards

Tend to pick and choose. But I will 'echo' other people's sentiments if the original poster seems to be trying to make a choice about something.That way they can see how all dis'ers feel about whatever they asked. Did that make any sense??

My DISing style depends on my mood and/or whether I'm at home using my cable or on the road using dial up. I definitely post much less when I'm using dial up

Sometimes I will post just to let people know that I read their post and that I care about what is going on with them, even if I don't offer advice or an opinion. Then sometimes I will post because a thread has dropped to page two or three with very few replies. I can hardly bear to see a post with zero replies so I have to post to those.

I figure the "coffee klatch" threads don't need any help so I avoid them. I avoid controversial threads.

I'm kind of like Kitty34, I like fluff. I can get all kinds of serious stuff at home in real life. I come to the DIS for fun. I know life isn't all pixie dust but I can come to the DIS to hide from the unpleasantness for a while and that's what I do. I don't come to the DIS to have my social conscience prodded--I come here for fun--and I always seem to find fun here

pick and choose. i don't read every thread and don't respond to every thread i read. i only repeat something if it is a poll or a serious question i feel strongly about.

I pick and choose, too, but I think it has more to do with timing for me. It’s usually easier for me to give a quick response (like to, ‘what’s your favorite brand of peanut butter’) than one I need to think about. Often, I just don't have time for a longer response. Sometimes, I start to write something, then just can't finish it for some reason. Actually, I’ve almost responded to this 3 times previously!
