No use in wasting a stamp when it's going right next door and their mailbox is right beside mine. I would just slip it in their mailbox when they aren't looking.

Mail, but most of our Christmas cards go to friends we don't see very often and family. Only a few go to good friends here in our town.

I am the only American in my neighborhood. all my beighbors are Chinese and I have nothing at all against that, just they are clicky so i stay to myself sometimes that is a good thing too.

We got out of the Christmas card biz a long time ago. We will give the neighbors a warm verbal greeting a day or two before 12/25.

Apparently it is illegal to put something in the mailbox without a stamp, so our mailwoman throws out everything she sees in there. Many a child's party invitation has been lost forever. I once asked her why it's illegal since I paid for the mailbox and it's on MY property, but she told me it belongs to the government and they make the rules. Therefore, if I actually want the neighbors to get the card I have to mail it.

I just put our cards in the neighbor's mailbox before they get home from work and AFTER the mailperson has come!

JLeaf - I was gonna say something similar. If someone is going to put something in a mailbox, better do it when the MAILMAN isn't looking, not the neighbor.

Jeafl - I can't believe your mailwoman does that? Do you give her a Christmas gift? Our mailman retired and we LOVED him. Our replacement is just as nice. I know it's illegal, but neither one of them would have dreamed of tossing something out of our mailbox. We put stuff back and forth all the time in them. I hand deliver my cards because I'm thrifty (not cheap).
