I made all of our dining reservations right around the 90 day make. I thought I knew what I wanted to do. After reading the great reviews from this board, I think I want to change them. This is what I have:
Mon. LeCellier 2pm--arrival day
Tues. Mama Melrose 4:50- celebrating friend's 50th birthday
Wed. Liberty Tree 5:35 - our only Character event
Thurs. Sci Fi 5:55
Fri Prime Time 5:40

I really want to add Whispering Canyon. The CM I spoke to today said most bookings are going quickly but since it was WC, I did have a little more time. I just don't know what to do. DH is no help. As long as he eats, he's fine.
How do you decide where you are eating?

We never could decide. I was still changing ADRs on our cell phone while at the parks. And there are so many more places I want to try, its hard to make a decision. Good luck, and Im sure whatever you decide, you will have a wonderful time.

The way I decide is I do our itinerary for the trip, once I know where I will be on which days, I go through and pick a restaurant nearby that I have always wanted to try or loved in the past and that's what I book. Here is our schedule for our trip IN 18 DAYS :cool1: . Hopefully it will show you how I made our decisions. We are staying at the BWI, and my DH says he doesn't care either, it's a guy thing ;)
Saturday 8/13: Arriving around noon, heading to World Showcase for touring, having lunch at Sommerfest (cs). We have tickets for La Cirque that evening, so we will have dinner at Wolfgang Puck Cafe (TS)
Sunday 8/14: Magic Kingdom in the morning, lunch at Casey's Hot Dogs (an old favorite). Dinner that evening at the Castle
Monday 8/15 MGM in the morning. Late lunch at Beaches and Cream(have vouchers). Fantasmic dinner package at 6:20 at Mama Melrose
Tuesday 8/16 (our anniversary) Magic Kingdom for tour which includes lunch at Columbia Harbor House. Dinner that evening at the Yacht Club before our Illuminations Cruise
Wednesday 8/17 Animal Kingdom. Lunch at the Tusker House (CS). Dinner that evening at 'Ohana before EMH at the Magic Kingdom
Thursday 8/18 Magic Kingdom first thing in the morning for photograph session. Lunch at Cosmic Rays. That may change to lunch near BWI if we don't get a late checkout. Checkout of BWI and head for home :crazy2:
Last trip, we had the kids along, so we did a lot more character meals and I learned a lesson. Make your dining plans fit your itinerary, or you will spend a lot more time in transit than you really want to. :wave2:

I have tried all of you choices except mama melrose and I think they are all great. My family did not like WC at all, so I would stick with what you have. After all maybe there is a reason there are not as many PS's already made.
Good luck with what ever you choose, I am sure you will have a magical trip.

Mine were real easy, DH is a meat and potatos man. :teeth: No french, mexican, chinese for him (I will try anything at least once). What he doesn't know is that the prime rib he will get at Cinderealla's Royal Table will be just a little different then he is used to, and I'm not going to tell him. :rotfl2:

Our sit downs are: Whispering Canyon, Cinderella's Royal Table, Hollywood & Vine, Liberty Tree Tavern and Trails End. Breakfast is no problem he will eat anything.

P S He liked Sci Fi food but was so disappointed because he thought that there would be a full movie and it was only trailers. Won't let me make adr's there at all. :confused3

Biggest factor for our upcoming trip is LOCATION.

We decide what park(s) we will be at on which days, we decided to avoid EMH parks completely.
And then we see what restaraunts we liked and could get to without stressing and running from bus to bus.

I notice you have 3 dinners at Disney Studios, great choices. But for us since we are staying at WL, we found it would be too much to dine there on a day we are visiting the MK(example). My daughter(her bday trip) wanted to try Sci-Fi and Prime Time, so we are doing them the same day(one lunch one dinner).

I understand what you mean- it is so confusing. Last time I went to WDW I made all of my ADRs in advance. I already had my days mapped out- I matched the restaurants with the parks, etc. Then when I arrived I found out about EMH and of course I had not scheduled any of the parks to coincide with early/late times. However, since I've discovered this board I realize that is probably a good thing (avoiding the crowds). This time around I plan on scheduling my days the same way, with one exception- I'm hoping our visit will not be as crowded as last time, so I would like to do the EMH in the am. However, if I am not able to schedule it like this- no big deal. We are driving so we will not have to use WDW transportation. Does anyone know how far in advance the EMH days and parks are released?

OK, I made changes. Thursday will be Prime Time and Friday is Whispering Canyon. I tried to squeeze Sci Fi in for lunch on Tuesday. The earliest that was available was 1:30. Didn't think we would want dinner 3 hours later so I just dropped it.
