How do YOU communicate at DL?

We are Canadian too and calling in the US is very expensive so we use our cell phones and text each other....works perfectly...I make sure my phone is on vibrate and ring because I can seldom hear it in the parks!

Yeah and half the time I don't feel it vibrating because I'm literally bouncing around from excitement when I'm there, I never know if its my phone or just myself vibrating.

I went looking at the coverage maps for GSM phones, cause if i buy one to use in the states I want it to work back in new zealand as well,

Cingular looked to have better coverage than T-Mobile, also around the chicago area where I'll be after DL

Now I just have to work out where I can get a prepaid sim card for cingular and find out if my phone will work.

We had Cingular for awhile and it does work better in DL and SoCal in general we have found but it does not get good reception in my neighborhood in AZ!!! So we switched back to T-Moblie. It does go in and out at DL so that might be part of my problem!

DH, MIL and I are relying on our Sprint cell phones for communication. We will split up quite a bit since MIL can't ride anything "jerky, bouncy or fast", DS is only 2 and rest of us want to ride everything. It worked for us at WDW, hopefully Sprint service is decent at DL also

When we travel there is dh and I and 15 year old dsd and our little ones. Dh and I each have cells and dsd is always with ONE of us. So I just call dh and he me etc. When my mom comes she also has a cell. We don't let dsd bring her phone cuz she is famous for loosing stuff. She is pretty good with staying with us.

I am sure if she had a friend with her she would want to go off on her own but we can barely afford to take just OUR family not to mention our car only seats 5 sooo she doesn't get to take a friend but if she did she would probably take her own phone.

She is pretty good with hanging with us though.

Definitely walkies, since we are the last family on the planet without cellphones!

Use a higher frequency, less traffice and we all have special Disney codenames!

Bought them for a trip in 1998-99, used them ever since. We are probably the ultimate in frugality...so I'm big on getting the biggest bang for the buck. The only expense is new batteries before we leave and they work just fine when the boys want to go hit the "Mountains" and I want to catch the parade or a show.
