I have a glass black stove top and love the product: Bar Keepers Friend
They carry it at Walmart and our grocery stores down the cleaning aisle. It's in a goldish color container.
It has gotten marks off my stove that were there for years when we moved in. I'd never give it up and use it on my pots & pans as well.
I use the cleaner specifically made for the smooth top stoves. They now even have red scrubbers that don't scratch the surface. I can go upstairs and look for the brand name if you want. They sell them at Wal-Mart.
I just squirt it on, scrub (because I'm always boiling stuff over) Then wipe off with paper towels. If I'm trying to get it really shiny they also have a tub of wipes from the same brand and I just wipe one of those over it when I'm done.
I also use the stuff for a ceramic top and honestly windex works wonders and leaves it looking great.
