Just wondering how everyone here gets their WDW trips booked. We have been using the same local travel agency (American Express Travel) for the last couple of years but I fear they won't be around long unless things change. I spoke with our agent last week when I was booking and she said things were tough. They were just starting to get better post-9/11 but then the war started and people have fear about the SARS virus. Their office is facing lay-offs and/or cut-backs. Will travel agencies be things of the past??

Will I need to book directly through Disney in the future? (We wouldn't want to do it all on our own)

We always book air on our own. The rest of the vacation we either book through Dreams Unlimited or on our own. Last year when we went to DW we didn't know about DU  or else we would have booked through them. Good luck!

We used to use a travel agency until they started charging fees for every transaction they booked for us. Now my DH makes all the arrangements himself.

Its much more fun to do it all yourself:bounce:

I do everything on my own and have lots of fun doing this!!

I also do everything myself. That is half the fun, trying to find the best deals. Also seems to save a lot of money.

We have booked with Virgin for the last few years as they work out the best value for a package for two adults.

Member Services through DVC.
We drive.

I book all our trips to WDW and anywhere else we go. It's easier and more fun and really not that hard to do.

I read advice here on the boards and do some of my own research. I think it's fun!

We do DVC and I book my airfare on my own. I love the game of finding the cheapest airfare. In January we flew from Denver to Orlando for less than $140 per person, including taxes and fees.

I book them all myself! That's how I became addicted to The DIS in the first place. :jester: :smooth:

We book everything ourselves. We use DVC Member Services to arrange our accommodations, then the rest is up to me. If we're flying, I find flights and a rental car; if we're driving, I plan what hotels we'll use on the way down and back. :)

I book everything myself. I would drive me nuts not to be in
complete control of everything.

Me TOO!!! :)

I book it all myself. Not only is it more fun and you have more control, it also gives you an excuse to be on the DIS (and therefore the #1 priority) when your family is all wanting to use the computer.

i always book our air myselves. Same with DVC reservations. For those times we aren't using DVC (cruises, some visits to WDW or Disneyland) we use Dreams Unlimited. They are great!
