How do you become a tester?

good question and there is one simple answer....................................................................................................................................................................i dont no

but i do want to no

back in september i saw them asking people in WDW if they play vmk a lot and if they would like to be a tester. So you would have to be asked in Disney. I was asked but back then i didnt play...

Well One Thing I Have Heard Is That To Be A Tester Is That You Have To Work At Disney Full Time. And If They Asked You To Be A Tester At Disney I Think They Might Be Referring To Testing The Game Not Being A Official VMK Tester. Last Thing i Heard You Have To Be Experienced With Technology And Stuff And That Also Applies For VMK Staff. (A Staff Memember Said Once It Takes Many Years Of Learning To Be Staff) Which Means You Have To Know What Your Doing.

Remember I Doubt They Meant You To Be A Official Tester Because Yavn and His Testing Team Created VMK And I Doubt He Pulled All His Team Off The Street And Said "You Have been Chosen To Be A Tester!"

I Believe It Is More Like You Have To Be Way Experienced And Things Becuase Remember: This Is There Job And They Get Paid So They Aren't Going To Pcik Random Ppl To Be A Tester Or Staff.

krazyluke, i have one question, does it take you a while to type in what you want to say in a post? bc i noticed that every first letter of every word that you type is capitalized. i am not, like, trying to be mean, i am just................how do i put it.......................more curious than curious george sometimes, LOL just wondering.

that right there took me only less that 2 minutes that is just have i type something and it helps me practice hitting the shift key...

P.S. -- it is hard sometimes because for the past two years at school we had to learn typing and not to look at the key board and now i can type without looking and typing that without looking ;)

Yea a tester is a REAL job. People think that it's like signing up for being a community leader!(i know none of you dis ppl say that i'm talking about ppl in the game!) They are paid computer experts that are the background of VMK. Not to mention it's probably not as cool as it seems. Gots to be lots of work creating stuff in the computer. I'd say if you ever work for disney you should ask! I'm going to work at disneyland! tee hee!

OH!! no fair! my grandparents were going to work there but tey decide to take my dad to bristol RI and live there even though i in middletown lol

I'm pretty sure VMK uses the same technology created by Sulake to operate their Habbo Hotels, which is like VMK without pins, dictionary or being enjoyable. Instead you get to pay to witness people who pretend they're teenagers talk about and peform violence, awful language, sex and abuse.
Now to move on ;), I have no idea what the testers actually do! Uh.. test?

My parents keep telling me that i should apply for the job, for vmk staff. (yeah if only i knew how).
They keep saying you play that stupid game so much that you should work for them.
I tell them that it takes great computer skills and such.
They keep saying i do have great computer skills.
Then i am like i can't even set up a html userpage on vmkmagic fourm, how can i work for vmk?.

ok i am good with computers but apples are my prefrence. Which i know vmk is run on a window. Why do think they have some many problems? :confused3 :teeth: (ok apple people will only get that)

Just a note: To apply to become a staff member/tester, go to Sulake.com and apply for a job. Right now, there are no VMK positions availible. There is a Habbo Hotel staff member job up there. And the testers/staff need to know how to make websites, and stuff like that in case the homepage is wrong. You also need to be 16 or over to become a in game staff member, but to become an executive in there, you need to be over 25.

Those Habbo Hotel guests look too much like Legos... lol :rotfl2: I joined that a while ago to see what it was like -- waaaayyy too much of a pick up place lol, and the freedom of speech is sooo not for children. But I do wish that VMK had a pool!!

i think though disney hires the vmk staff, you can always check disneycareers.com

Just a side note since this was referenced in a post in this thread:

Working at Disneyland is fun; however, it is indeed a job.

Oh the stories I could tell about things park guests do / say / want ... but I would not dare do that!

Cool stuff about working at Disneyland:
- Learning some "inside secrets"
- Free admission to the park when not working
- Ability to sign in guests at the park when not working
- Discount
- The look in a little kid's eye (or even an adults) when they experience the magic of Disney for the first time and you got to be part of it

Uncool stuff about working at Disneyland:
- eh, nevermind. Like all jobs, there are downsides, but let's just review the above list again and hold onto the good stuff. :)
