How do we get to Universal?

Can anyone tell me if there is a shuttle, or any sort of transportation from WDW or the Downtown Disney area to Universal? We are thinking or venturing off property for a day during our trip in November, but are wondering if we can manage it without renting a car. Any suggestions?

There is no official shuttle, but you can use Mears for around $12 a person or do a taxi for around $35-$40 for up to around 5 people.
