Bingo.
Which brings us full circle to "How do thinking people take Rush Limbaugh seriously?"![]()
Thank you for confirming with you own words that you utterly missed the point of my post.
Billl Bennett was the drug czar under President Bush 41.I'm glad someone clarified the drug czar/poverty czar thing. I didn't think Rush would have mocked a drug czar. Didn't Reagan have a drug czar?
.
Didn't Rush say he was going to vote for Hillary?![]()
And didn't he get something like 86,000 Republican drones to vote for her in Texas primary?![]()
This is an entertainment program disguised as serious news/journalism. Some folks can't make the distinction.![]()
Personally, I can't stand Randi Rhodes either. She's the liberal's Rush Limbaugh: hours of mindless conservative bashing. The fact that Rush is very successful and Randi is not speaks volumes.
I think the OP really wanted to stir the pot today. I guess Rush stands out to me because most of the others are as liberal as they come. Let's face it, when you can name the conservative commentators the other 95% liberal blend in.
I agree completely with this-BOTH Randi and Rush are entertainers. That's what they are paid to do. I have maintained for years that if Rush thought he could make as much money bashing Conservatives that's exactly what he would be doing.
He's a smart guy-he saw a market that was unserved, there were a lot of angry conservatives out there that felt their voices and opinions weren't being heard and he became their voice. Who knows, he may not even believe half the stuff he says. The important thing is that his bank account continues to grow, and grow and grow.
My concern has never been with Rush or Randi-it's always been with the people who swallow every word they say as Gospel Truth.
Conservatives dominate talk radio, and I think most people would agree. Rush and Sean are the heavy hitters-but you've also got Mark Levin and Michael Savage, I believe Ann Coulter had a show for a while, then there's Laura Ingrahm, Glenn Beck-who started on radio and the local guys like Curtis Sliwa in NYC.
I don't disagree that the conservative viewpoint was underserved-it's why these people are so successful. What saddens me about the extremists on BOTH sides is that they feed into an angry fringe on BOTH sides. Fanning the flames of that angry fringe isn't doing anybody any favors.

I disagree. One might be able to pull off that type of ingenuity for a short time but not for long. He is a consistent voice of conservatism with few contradictions. I don't think that a liberal could masquerade as a conservative for very long and fool people. I have no doubt that he believes most if not all of what he says. His bank account grows because he has the largest listening audience in the US. Obviously he connects with a lot of people and he rarely sounds angry. Most of the time, he sounds like he is enjoying himself.
I didn't mean that Rush was angry-because you're right-he seems pretty happy-but the people I know in RL that listen to him have always been pretty angry. They were angry at the Clintons-some still are, they're angry at the mainstream media, they're angry at the Democrats, they're angry at the poor, they're angry at the illegals, they're angry at the ACLU, they're angry at non-Christians.....I could go on but I think you get the idea.I have maintained for years that if Rush thought he could make as much money bashing Conservatives that's exactly what he would be doing.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the reason he sounds so happy all the time is because he's laughing all the way to the bank. There's really no way that you or I or anyone else can really know if he believes what he says or not.
That would make him a liberal then. Then of course you could "maintain" that if he could make as much money bashing liberals, that's exactly what he'd do.
Circular logic...![]()

Yes, Its called Operation Chaos. The goal is to keep the democratic primary alive so Obama and Clinton need to spend money to campaign against each other and inflict political damage on each other as well. It has been effective costing both campaigns an extra $110 million.
Just goes to show you what the "ditto-heads" really think of the vote and how much they're willing to crap on the American system. To them, the vote isn't a sacred right bought and paid for with American blood. It's game to be played by a drugged out moron and the ones who support him. What a disgusting show.
I've often wondered what were the loyalties of Limbaugh and his dittoheads. The answer is loud and clear: The loyalities aren't to the US or it's institutions. They have no respect for neither. Just to their own Bizarro World.

I don't know who is worse in the "Operation Chaos" story-the guy who created the idea or the people that are actually participating in it. For people who claim to love their country so much, artificially manipulating the voting process is really an odd way of showing it. What's next? Ignoring the Constitution...oh, yeah...well...never mind-that's been done already.
