How do they schedule characters?

How do they decide which characters are out? Is there a list somewhere of which ones are alwAys there? I know you can ask a cm or look on the board in DCA but is there a way to know in advance? I've always wondered how they selected which ones would come out on any given day.

The easiest way to know which characters are out I think, is by using the Mouswait app. If you have a smart phone, i.e. iPhone or Android you can get it in the market. Theres a part in the app that you can type the name of a character and it will tell you what area of the park they are in at that exact moment and for how long they will be there.
