How do I start a meet thread for August 24, 2013?

My wife and I are on this cruise. It is our much delayed honeymoon from May 2012. We could not go then so booked a May cruise this year but again events spiralled out of our control and after a bit of a price hike we managed too move to this one.

We feel kinda guilty as our 2.5yr old will not be coming. But grandparents have insisted. This is our last chance for a couple holiday for many many years and we plan to have lots of fun and collect many trinkets for our daughter.

Hopefully we will get the just of the FE and/or magnet exchange before we come but with some intense work training and an impending home move it will be a struggle to get this together and we only have one chance to get this right.

If anyone has any tips we would be grateful to hear them.

Welcome aboard Paul & Jodie! I'm sure someone will come along & give you the scoop on FE & magnets but I just wanted to throw this out there. Not trying to talk you out of something you really want to do but gosh it sounds like you have a lot on your plate! You're going on your honeymoon don't stress about FEs & magnets. Not everyone participates & you shouldn't feel badly if you can't. Enjoy your alone time together & have a wonderful cruise! I hope our paths will cross onboard. You'll likely find me by the Cove pool since this is a solo cruise for me. Since you'll be without your little one this time perhaps I'll see you there.

Welcome aboard!

Much of the banter for this sailing is happening on Facebook and its there that the FE list is being kept.

Be advised that there are two FE lists. One list is folks that signed up by the paid in full date of the cruise (June 11). The second list is the "provisional" list. Everyone is expected to get gifts for everyone on both lists, but there may be some folks on the first list that pre-made their gifts based on the number of folks that were on the lists as of June 11... so the provisional folks may miss out on a couple gifts... but the vast majority of participants on the first list are making extra gifts (I know I am making for 50 staterooms even thought we only have about 40 signed up so far)... so please do sign up!

It should be a hoot.

Somewhere on this thread it will tell you who to contact to get on Facebook...

I don't think we'll do the FE this year, it took too much space in our suitcases and we are trying to travel light this time, but I would LOVE to do the magnet exchange!

This cruise seems to have snuck up on me! I haven't spent much time on this thread so trying to catch up. I'm with Geodoc and our two daughters. We're celebrating my 50th dd's 13th and dd's 9th. DD9 is the only one celebrating a birthday on the actual day in St Maarten on the 27th. Saw there will be a wedding there that day! Congratulations in advance. I sent a message to the FB keeper to add me to the group. I think we will lay low this cruise, no magnet or FE but loved it when we did it on another cruise. It will actually be our second week as we are doing a B2B starting on the 17th of Aug. So excited!

I booked the flights to Florida this morning and will book the cruise this afternoon. I was holding out on a deal but I think it's time to bite the bullet. My kids have their hearts set on this ship and itinerary and it's the last week before they resume school so we are doing it.

I'm planning on walking it as fast as my healing ankle and foot will let me. I'm not able to jog/run on it yet... but I'm getting there. I'm bummed about not being able to run it, but it's a great excuse for a 'next time'.
