How do I start a meet thread for August 24, 2013?

Fladis32, are you sailing in 2014? I see you posted that you are looking for someone on the August 23rd cruise to join on a St. Martin tour. We sail the 24th.

We are in 9618.

We have a private tour for St Maartin doing the whole island and have space for your family if you want to join us. It is $30 + tip per person (cash preferred) and is from 9am to about 2pm. Audrey is heading this tour up.
Please let us know as soon as possible. We leave in 8 days. :cool1: Thanks.

Do you have more info about the private tour? What stops are you doing? We did a private tour the last time we went in 2009. The plan right now is for this time is to get a bus to Marigot and Maho this time around ourselves.

Here is out plan:

9:45am
Arrive at designated location for pick-up
10:00am
Pick up at cruise terminal
Within 4 minutes will drive through a part of Great Salt Pond, then head East through Cole Bay Hill and Belair.
10:30am
Cole Bay Hill (5 minute photo stop)
Provides a panoramic view of Simpson Bay lagoon (largest in the Caribbean) with its many yachts and sailboats and the neighboring islands of Anguilla, Saba and St.Eustatias (atmospheric conditions permitting).
11:15am
Maho Beach Sunset Bar & Grill (90 minute stop - based on group vote)
Famous because here plane spotting enthusiast as well as sun bathers can see Boeing 747's, Air Bus 380's on final approach to Princess Juliana Intl A' port. Sunset Bar & Grill is also a great place to eat lunch during this tour.
12:45pm
Leave Maho Beach and drive through Mullet Bay and Cupecoy Bay, which are roughly 3-5 minutes away from Maho Beach. Then head further East to drive around Terre Basse, neighborhood of some of the most expensive homes and villas on the island. Afterward, we will arrive at the west side frontier and cross to the French half of the island.
1:15pm
Marigot - French capital of St. Maarten (45 minute stop recommended)
Here guests can visit the many shops, French pastry shops, fleamarket, spice, fruit and vegetable market or even visit the Fort Louis if able to maneuver the 90 steps up to the fort.
2:00pm
Depart Marigot and head Northwest through the La Savanne and Rumbaugh, then Grand Case before arriving at Orient Bay. If we wish, we can choose to stop at Grand Case to walk around and take some photographs, but we can decide that during the tour. Times will then need to be adjusted to accommodate a stop there.
2:20pm
Orient Bay Beach (60 minute stop - tour company recommends 90 minutes here)
One of the most popular beaches in the Caribbean, with gentle waters and soft sand. We can always decide to spend more or less time here during the tour (in which case times will need to be adjusted accordingly).
Orient Bay is another location recommended by the tour company to eat lunch, if you wish.
3:20pm
Depart Orient Bay Beach and drive South.
3:40pm
Lucas Bay (5-10 minute photo stop)
This is the last beach area on the French side of the island before you enter the Dutch side.
3:50pm
Depart Lucas Bay viewpoint and drive South, crossing the east frontier into the Dutch side of St. Maarten. Drive alongside Great Salt Pond.
4:00pm
Iguana Farm (5 minute photo stop)
4:15pm
Return to the cruise terminal.
OR
Get dropped off in Phillipsburg for additional sightseeing or shopping.
If you choose this second option, the tour bus will pick us up at a specified time for return to cruise ship.

Thanks for the info. It'll be a great tour - very similar to what we did with Joyce Prince. We'll stick with our original plan. We want to see more of Marigot and hike up to the Fort. The 45 minute stop isn't enough time.

We head out tomorrow for WDW.

Pls add me to the Facebook page. I am cruising with my husband, son who is 10 and daughters that are 9 and 7. My Facebook name is Amma Gyarteng Darfour. Thanks.

Well there is nothing like waiting until the week before sailing to booking a cruise. We are officially crashing the party as of yesterday and now frantically doing all the research for this run.

We did the Mexican Rivera on Wonder last Nov to celebrate the adoption of our foster daughter. It was our first cruise ever. Obviously we loved it so much we booked this one yesterday to get out of town before the hubby goes back to work.

I see we missed the cut off for the FE :( Probably best with only 7 days left to get it together. But I am trying to hook up with the FB group and haven't heard anything back from the admins. Friended and messaged them just yesterday.

Excited to be cruising with ya !!

Welcome, we might have a gift or 2 extra if you are gonna put out an FE. Just let us know your cabin number. pixiedust:

Soarin... Thank you so much. Still trying to figure out if I have time to get it all together.

Also, still trying to hook up with the Facebook group. Sent a message to both admins listed on here and haven't heard back from either one. Tried the links and none of them work due to it being a closed group.

We can be reached under - De Sawyer-Ginsburg

Can someone, anyone pleeeeeeeeeese add us ..... :) Please please please :) :)

Wow! I had no idea there was a forum for this. My DD and I will be travelling on this trip and I'm sure she would love to meet other girls that are about her age (10). Our stateroom is 8526. I know it's last minute, but would love to join the facebook page too!

Hi all!
We were just on the Fantasy the week of Aug 10-17, 2013 - it was fantastic! There was a server in the main dining room, his name was Daniel from Portugal. He wasn't our server but he was serving the table nearby. He was so friendly and great with the children (we were a large group of 17, lots of kids!). I wanted to mail him a care package but I don't have much info on him. I need his last name so it doesn't go to another Daniel somewhere on the ship. I contacted DCL but they won't release that info. If someone who is travelling this week can please help me by finding Daniel from Portugal (server) and ask him for his last name and maybe an email address that would be wonderful! Hope it's not too much trouble and enjoy your trip!

Many thanks,
Alessia
