How do I get to Hoop-Dee-Doo and Whispering Canyon?

What is the best way to get to Hoop-Dee-Doo and Whispering Canyon without a car? Would it be easier to get there from a park or our resort (CSR)? We have park hopper option on our tickets if that helps. We are doing each for dinner one night...

Thanks!

You can’t get there from your resort. You’ll have to take a bus to any park or downtown Disney and transfer from there. It’s nice to catch a boat from MK to either one of those.

The "fastest" way (I use the term fast loosely here), would be to catch a bus to MK from CSR, then take the boat to WL and/or FW for HDD. It's the same boat. Expect probably around a 45-60 minute commute. But the boat ride is very nice.

If you want to speed this up, you might consider a taxi.

TruBlu,
Please don't be insulted, but I just wanted to be sure that you knew that Hoop De Doo is at Fort Wilderness and Wispering Canyon is at Wilderness Lodge. They are two separate resorts and not within walking distance from one another. If I were you, I'd take a bus to Magic Kingdom and then a boat.

The boat from Magic Kingdom will take you to each resort, and it's a nice ride. The boat usually stops first at Wilderness Lodge and then continues on to Fort Wilderness. If you get to Fort Wilderness any other way than the Magic Kingdom boat, you'll have to take an internal Fort Wilderness bus to Pioneer Hall, where the show is. As long as you don't have the early Hoop De Doo show, there should be a bus to take you directly from Fort Wilderness back to Coronado Springs.

Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge is one of our favorite restaurants. Have a great time.

Thanks Susan! This is our first trip, so I have no idea what I am doing!!! I kind of thought that they were in different places - that was why I listed them both, but I wasn't sure. We have them scheduled for dinner on two different nights. I hope it isn't as confusing when we get to Disney as it has been planning everything!!! :confused3

Do you know if there is a good site that shows the routes for the monorails, busses and boats? It is very hard to figure out what goes where!! :confused3

It really does seem to be very confusing, but it isn't. Once you get there you'll find out just how easy it is. Time consuming..yes. But still relatively easy. Basically, if you need to go to a resort, any resort, from your resort, you are going to have to go to the park that is the closest to the resort you want to get to. Then transfer to a bus, boat, or monorail to get to the desired resort. From CSR to FW....bus to MK then boat to FW. Same thing for WL and Whispering Canyon. Same route, same boat.

You just need to remember to give yourself enough time to get from resort to resort. Most of us figure on about an hour or so. It really is easy and once you've been there for 24 hrs., you'll be an expert too!!! Have a terrific trip.

TruBlu,

Glad I could help. If I remember correctly, they used to give you a transportation map when you check in. I don't ask for it anymore, but you might want one. It's a big chart that details where to get anywhere from anywhere in Disney. Very convenient to have.

If they aren't available anymore, fear not-you'll get your bearings after a day or so. It's really not that hard. You can ask anyone, especially the bus drivers or the people who are attending the monorail or boat services their opinion on the best way to get somewere. Everyone is really helpful.

Have fun at Coronado Springs, I've never stayed there but I hear the pool is great.

It is easier to get there from a park.

If you will be in a park prior to going to dinner, take the available transportation from that park (bus from MGM, EPCOT or AK; boat from MK) directly to the Wilderness Lodge for Whispering Canyon. To get to Hoop-Dee-Doo from parks take the available transportation from that park (bus from MGM, EPCOT or AK; boat from MK) to Fort Wilderness, then take the internal Fort Wilderness bus to Hoop-Dee-Doo (bus not required if traveling by boat from the MK).

Will you be going back to your resort or back to a park after dinner?

Also if you take the Bus to Disney/Mgm Studios you can change to a Fort Wilderness Bus that will take you right to the Hoop De Doo Bus Stop at Fort Wilderness, only the Disney/Mgm route does this, all other park routes (except MK) will take you to the Outpost Bus Stop at Fort Wilderness where you would have to change to a Internal Ft Wilderness Bus route (Orange,Yellow or Purple route).

Does the Comtemporary boat go straight to Fort Wilderness? Do you have to get the Pioneer Hall bus after you get off of the Contemporary boat?

It depends. There are two boats that do the CR-WL-FW loop. One goes CR-WL-FW-CR. The other travels CR-FW-WL-CR. The would suggest take the first boat that comes.

From the boat dock, Pioneer Hall is a five minute walk up the path.
