How do I get from one Disney resort to another?

We are staying at Pop Century and have breakfast reservations one morning at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Can I take a bus from one to another or do I have to take a bus to AK and then another to the lodge? How long a walk is it from the AK transportation center to the lodge itself?

You can't walk from AK to the lodge. You would have to take the bus from Pop to AK and switch at AK to the AKL bus.

There are no direct buses between resorts. If you are busing between resorts, you will need to transfer to another bus at a theme park or Downtown Disney, unless you are going to a resort that has some other method of transportation from a theme park.

In general, when transfering from one resort to another you will travel to a themepark and then on to the resort of your choice. There are some inter-resort boats/monorails and yes, even a bus. But, AKL is not one of them. My best advice is to get a good guidebook (my fav. is UG) that you can photocopy very general layout type maps that will give you a feel for the world and will help you identify which themepark is closest to which hotels so you're not doing a lot of backtracking.

If you have a rental car, that's definitely the quickest way from one resort to another! Otherwise, like others have said, take a bus to a park, and then transfer there. Allow an hour to get from one resort to another if you're going this way. Another alternative is to take a cab if you don't want to spend the extra time.

Welcome to the DIS boards!!:yay:
As you have heard, there are no resort to resort buses at WDW. It's kind of a pain to get around to the other resorts. Depending on what time your ADR for breakfast is, you can take the AK bus from POP and then transfer to the AKL bus at AK...but plan on it taking about 45 mins to an hour. There is no way to be sure how long you will have to wait for the AK bus at POP and then the AKL bus at AK.
Or, you could just bite the bullet and take a cab..it should run you about $10-13 to get from POP to AKL. And, it will be faster as well.

You've already gotten good advice. I would just like to say that is one of the reasons that we always rent a car.
