How Do I Get a Taxi?

I posted a thread back in September looking for help getting to Wide World of Sports and the suggestions were all to go from MK (where I will be that day) to Pop and then getting a taxi there to go to WWoS.

Do I need to call someone to schedule a taxi? Or do they have them waiting? I have never EVER ridden in a taxi before and have no clue on how to go about doing it!

Thanks!!

When we have take. A taxi for a park they are simply waiting. I believe you will have to get to the ttc, so take the monorail or boat there and then lol for taxi signs. But I could be misremembering of they might have changed it, so ask a cm on your way out of MK and look for the taxi signs.

Ooh, or walk over to Bay lake Towers (or Contemporary, of course, LOL) and get a taxi from there. Might be quicker than getting to ttc!

Getting the taxi...the drivers have a system and are lined up in order. Go to the one at the front of the line. Tell the driver where you are going and get on in. I believe all taxis on property will be Mears. I personally will bring cash for them because the cc machine doesn't always work or work well. When you get to the destination the meter will clearly tell you the total. Tips are nice.

I would walk over to the Contemporary resort would be a lot faster than going to TTC. There are always taxis waiting around

Bus transportation to ESPN Wide World of Sports is available from Disney's All-Star Sports Resorts, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney's Pop Century Resort on a limited schedule:
Thursday - Monday 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
These buses will also run when events are taking place at the sports complex based on the following schedule:
One (1) hour prior to sports complex opening until 11:00 p.m. or sports complex close,
whichever is later
During the scheduled operating hours, buses from Disney's All-Star Sports Resorts, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney's Pop Century Resort to ESPN Wide World of Sports will arrive at the sports complex on the hour and ½ hour.
Due to capacities and schedules, these buses may not be able to accommodate teams and equipment. To ensure your team's on-time arrival for competition at ESPN Wide World of Sports, please use event transportation if it is included with your event, or make arrangements for your own transportation to the sports complex.

Taking the bus to WWoS will take too long.

And I don't want to spend too much money, which is why I was planning on taking one from Pop Century.

I'm just trying to figure out what to do once I get to Pop. Will there be taxis already there or do I need to call ahead of time and request one?

I would just go from MK or the closest MK resort.

If you really want to go to Pop, just ask the CMs outside when you get there. They'll know if there are any taxis waiting, and they are the people to call the taxis if they aren't there.

If you're going for the race expo, I'm actually not sure where taxis drop off. I know that no matter what you've got a walk in front of you (which doesn't seem like it should be a big deal when you're there for a race, but it's still annoying to me LOL, probably because I never leave myself enough time to be happy with the walk). If you are there for a race and if you are already going to Pop, just go to the race/expo transportation bus. I have used the bus for transportation to TOT and WDW Marathon weekend expos, and it hasn't been problematic or long at all.

Yes, they wait out in the parking lot, but they pick up at the porte cochere. Just go to the porte cochere, and if there isn't already an empty cab waiting there, ask the bell person to call one over for you.

Are you going to a Braves game? If so, leave early, because traffic going into EWWS can get backed up close to game time. Not only might you miss the start of the game, but you will have to pay the cab driver extra for wait time.
