How do DVC'ers with older kids feel when "their teens" can't make a trip?

How were the crowds Thanksgiving week? We just got back from a Disney cruise and my oldest son who is in 5th grade unfortunately missed a whole week of school. He told me last night he never wants to do that again. He has so much make-up work. So I was thinking about Thanksgiving, since his school is off Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday. But I am afraid of the crowds. I was thinking we could do most of the park stuff at the beginning of the week, relax over the holiday and finish up with a couple park days on Sunday and Monday. Thanks for your input.

Well we arrive on Thursday or Friday the week before Thanksgiving and leave the day after. It starts getting crowded on T and W and then just balloons from there. However I do have a friend that arrives on Wed. or Thanksgiving day and stays until the following T or W and she said the crowds really thin out on Sunday/Monday. SO if it were me. I would take you son out of school either the Tuesday to go with his Monday or the Tuesday to go with his Wed. Our kids get the entire week off of Thanksgiving so we pull them for one or two days to go wtih that week but like I say...We are usually done with all parks on Tuesday, Wed. at the latest. As you can see by the addition of my "new ticker" we are going to go ahead and go in Jan. Of course those who know me on here....know I do change my mind quiet often when it comes to my WDW trips. So right now the plan is to go. Baby steps.....baby steps....baby steps........
