How difficult to book during Holidays in 2013

We own a home resort of BLT and usually go in October. My dad would like to go on a big family trip next Christmas and I offered to take care of our room since we are DVC owners. Is it difficult to reserve a room the week of Christmas being a DVC owner??

Christmas-New Years is the busiest week of the year at WDW. You should be OK reserving your home resort right at the beginning of your 11 month window, but if it were me, I would be on the phone to MS the minute they opened on the first day of the 11 month window.

As long as you attempt to reserve exactly 11 months out you should be able to get what you want at BLT.

Most categories at BLT should be fine at 11 months out. Have a Merry Christmas.

I think you'll be okay if you reserve at the 11month window (using the online booking at 8am Eastern time), unless you want a standard view. I have tried about a couple times for 2br std view at BLT during peak demand periods (Thanksgiving and NYE) and studio std view during f&w at 11 months and have not have any luck. Some folks recommend "walking the reservation" in cases where the room category is hard to get. It seems like a lot of work, but may be worth it if must have that category.

To add on to the op's question how difficult would it be to get club level 2br at AK Jambo if it is your home resort for New Years. We are looking to go Dec 26, 2013 - Jan 1, 2014

It's not necessary to walk this. Just call or go online at 11 months out. At worst case, you may have to waitlist a night-and you'll undoubtedly have that waitlist fulfilled. But you would be fine at 11 months. We own here and didn't have a problem booking for the holidays. Even saw inventory here and there throughout the last few months.

Since Premier Season points are so high, DVC is harder to get earlier in the month. If you want standard view BLT it might be harder but lake view should be no problem.
