How did you tell your DH?

I haven't been feeling like my normal self for the past week! Well, I just found out that I am pregnant with my 3rd!

I am like 6 days pregnant..or so...and I litterally just found out! I think I will tell DH on Valentines day

Any ideas on how to tell him?

How did you tell your husbands you were pregnant?

Well, I was looking for ideas...ways to tell him...and he wont read this anyway. he is never on the community boards.

I think it's a nice idea to tell him on Valentine's Day.

Maybe you could get something to him from the baby or from the baby and your other children.

It would be nice if you could find a place that would make him a personalized conversation heart with the words "I'm pregnant" printed on it.

Maybe a cookie bouquet in baby/valentine theme.

I didn't so much tell my DH that I was pregnant as we both read the stick together. Something that came to mind in your case was to get something like "three times the charm" printed on a onesie and give him that for valentines or whenever. Actually, you could give him a congratulations on becoming a father card in a red envelope for valentines day too. However you tell him, I'm sure he'll be thrilled! Congratulations!

A card is what I did on Valentine's Day right after I found out I was prenant. I signed it from 'Baby #3'. Poor man almost had a heart attack. Congratulations to you both!!

The first time, DH found me crying in the bathroom over surprise number one.

Then, just 14 months later, he found me crying at home when he got home from work!

Pregnancy hasn't always been good news in my family!

With DS#1, I had taken a test while DH was at work. It was very early and the line was very faint, so I wasnt totally convinced. I had planned to wait a few days and take another test. So,2 days later he was showing me how to make cards on the computer and he printed out a baby one(knowing we were trying, and knowing that I technically could be, but he didnt know I was). So I finally gave in, went to the back of the drawer and gave him the bib I had hiding there that said "I love my Daddy". He laughed and said "Dont you think you are jumping the gun?". I just shook my head no...and his face dropped.

With DS#2, we had been struggling with infertility for about a year. I actually found out I was pregnant from my hairdress, about 9 days after I would have conceived. I went for a hair cut and she said "My God, your hair is out of control...what are you pregnant?". She had no idea I had been trying, and I thought I wasnt because I was having some signs that I wasnt at that point. I brushed it off with her, but I told DH and took a test the next morning. I thought it would be too soon to get an accurate result, but it wasnt. I saw the line! I had wanted to wait to tell DH in person when he got home, but he called me from work to see how the test came out(yes, we were obsessed by this point),so I had to just tell him then.

And I didn't have to tell DH. He told me! I hadn't been feeling myself and I was convinced I wasn't pregnant. DH made me take a HPT and I didn't want to stand there over the sink waiting for it to show pos or neg. After a few minutes, DH comes to me and says "Yup! You're pregnant!" I was shocked..then happy..then shocked.

Congratulations!!! Babies are so wonderful...

With our second child I mailed him the test. He was in the service. He had been home over Christmas and I got pregnant. Boy was I embarassed to know that they opened his mail before giving it to him. (or at least he said) Anyway, he got the message, literally.

I don't remember how I told DH #1 about my oldest son but when I was pregnant with my DH (now) with our first DS, I waited until we were in the middle of thousands of people at Taste of Chicago in '86. He was SO excited as it was his first!!! So while thousands were hoopin' and hollerin' over the 4th of July fireworks, we were celebrating our news!!!

I was thinking about how i found out with my first. I went to the doctor to get tested for mono. I was sooo tired I had no idea that pregnancy caused exhaustion!LOL! So, the doctor called to tell me at the office..well, my coworker answered and the nurse told her not me!

She apologized..then that night I took DH out to dinner and I told him. We really thought I had mono..so he was shocked! We weren't trying.

Then I took him out to dinner with the second. This one the v-day ideas are great. I actaully booked a trip to Disney earlier today (before I took the test) to give him. So this V-day is just full of suprises for him.LOL

I rang my DH as soon as I found out with my first & when he answered I said "Hello Daddy"

That was the longest wait in history I can tell you. I'd had my pregnancy confirmed in my lunchour & wanted him to be the first to know. When I rang the phone was busy, so I had to keep on trying till I finally got through I was busting to tell my workmates, but was determined that DH be the first.
