Ok, I need to know how we did here. Did we clean out too much? This is our master bedroom and it is huge! We had a lot more furniture in it (bookcases and another chair), the room could definately hold them but I was trying to clear out.

Does it look too sparse now? I am so used to seeing it the other way its hard for me to judge it.

Thanks!

It looks awesome! Very spacious; and not sparse at all! Good job!:thumbsup2

Looks very clean. I would take the window curtains and shut them slighlty. Like one quarter only, then tie them back like the curtain to the bath...

good luck on the sale!

Looks perfect to me! Especially in todays market you need to do everything to make you home stand out.

We just sold last spring and that is what all the sohows say to do. WE sold our house to the 1st person who looked. We spent a month declutteirng everything and it paid off.

Selling vibes to you!

Thanks everyone! It looks so strange to me now. Not that I think it was cluttered before it was just, well lived in, I guess.

Your moving Binny?

Yep! J got a big promotion so we are off to Denver! :cool1:

Looks great! Although I'd need to see "before" pictures to really appreciate all the work you did!

I dont know if I have any before pictures. I should have taken them. There was a blue wingback recliner where the short brown leather chair is now. A small bookcase by the black pictures, a large bookcase on the opposite wall as well another rocker (my reading nook). The bedroom is is 22 X 18 so it could handle all of the extra furniture but selling is more important than my comfort at this point LOL

Now today I get to work on the closet. UGH.

ok here is the other corner where the bookcase and rocker were

Hey there! Now you know I am going to be honest and well DH and I love staging. I think it is our favorite part of selling a home.:rotfl:

Take out all the flowers and plants.

Remove both chairs and end table from the room. They add no value to the room look.

You can even get away with removing the TV if you need to.

As far as the curtains you are missing some on each side of the window, it looks unfinished. That is a great window/focal point and I would play off of it.:thumbsup2

As far as your pics on the wall I would play around with it and regroup the smaller ones. Try and make it so there is some balance with them.

I would take away some of the pillows and make it more matching. I would remove the bed ruffle thing on the bottom of the bed for a cleaner look.

I would probably rearrange the furniture but since I am not there I can't.:lmao: DH and I move it until it looks "right".

Don't be afraid of open space when staging.:thumbsup2

I agree. OP, I think you're well on your way, but it doesn't seem finished yet. I'd regroup the pictures and take those two away between the windows. And, yes, the flowers definitely distract me and make it feel cluttered when it's really not.

That room is HUGE! Do you know how much square footage is in that room?

I think it looks nice. I don't think I'd remove all the plants; maybe some of them but I like that one that is hanging down the side of the shelf thing under the mirror.

Good luck with your move and especially selling your house in this market! :goodvibes

I personally would leave the chairs. I know that some people go Ga Ga over attached bathrooms, but to me the biggest selling point of a Master Bedroom is a separate sitting area for reading.

I have to agree I'm not crazy about the 1/2 curtains. It's a look, just doesn't suit my particular taste.

It looks very open and neat though, that's the number one important thing.

Then one of the chairs has to go. They do not match. The light brown one would be the one I would chuck.

Ok here is the only photo I have of when we first move din obviously this is the old bedding set and everything.

Ok so if I take the pictures off the wall between the 2 windows, that is a huge white space. I dont have a problem getting rid of those flowers but I dont want it be all wallpaper. Trust me there is so much wallpaper there!

Chairs have to stay as well as the TV I gave up my reading nook but dh will not agree to the TV that is our hideaway LOL.

I agree, I was trying to put something up there for the pictures yesterday but I dont like those there either.

the ruffle is hiding all cords for the electric blaket and stuff. LOL That bed is weird (and is not going with us to the new house!) it has slats and no boxspring so there is nowhere else to hide the cords.

I understand what you are saying but when you are showing your house there are people out there with allergies and fake plants are one of the worst things to have in a house. It could turn a person off without even realizing that they are turned off.

Good luck Binny!

The one on the shelf looks real to me from the pictures. The ones that I would take out would be the fake ones on the walls/side tables.

I see snow outside your windows (I think?) If you have enough time before someone comes to view your house, consider baking some cookies or brownies. It will be a nice cozy smell.
