How crowded will FWF be on the first night?

Please forgive my ignorance, but what kind of crowds should we expect on the 1st night of the FWF? We didn't book a dinner that night b/c we plan on eating/drinking our way around WS. We'll probably go early - around 4 or so.

Anyone ever go the first night? Are we crazy? Thanks for any help in advance.

I would suggest getting an ADR if you have a particular restaurant you would like to eat at. Food and Wine is generally pretty crowded.

If you want a ADR for that night call NOW- we too are going on the first night. This trip is a spur of the moment "let's do it" trip but it's just my DH and I (top secret from the kids). I tried to call yesterday and get ADR for that night and the options were VERY limited. They did have EARLY dinner seating at Biergarten and at Restaurant Marrakesh but that was it. They did have one late opening in Mexico if I remember correctly. Good news is I see from your signature you are staying at the Poly...it's EMH so once the general public clears out the crowds hopefully won't be too bad.

UGH! Packed is not what we want. We didn't want to do an ADR that night but rather munch around.

I guess we'll play it by ear.
