How crazy busy is MCO around Spring Break?

I'm imagining that MCO can get pretty busy around Spring Break. Is it so busy that you need to add in extra time going through security (on your way back home)? If so, how much extra time? Any other things to keep in mind when at the airport this time of year?

Thanks!

I have been through there twice during spring break time (last week of march) and didn't find it crazy. DME got me there in plenty of time both times.

I think it depends on what you're used to though. If you're used to flying out of small airports, it may feel crazy to you. But if you compare it with Heartsfield-Jackson or O'Hare...yeah...not even close.

Thanks for the feedback.

I've been through MCO several times now (but never around a holiday, or similar). It does seem like MCO could probably handle the crowds and I should maybe just expect more people, everywhere - esp. the kind of travelers that sometimes slow things down.

Its not like the airlines offer extra flights at this time (I'm assuming). Its just that the flights will be full. But, it seems most flights are full these days. So maybe Spring Break is nothing special at the airport.

Except 30-45 minutes wait at the security lines. I have been there twice in the past month and both times it was over a 30 minute wait and its not even Spring Break

One tip they now have the body scanners at MCO so you need to remove everything from your pockets even a kleenex will get you pulled aside for a pat down. So have everything out of your pockets, shoes off and computer out for inspection.
