How Cool is This? I'm DISing from MK!

This is unbelievably fun! DH and I are certain our January trip will be even better with our iPhone. We'll have the menus, forums and whatever else we've always wanted. I think it would be cool to spend a day on the dis asking "what's next" and then doing/riding whatever the next person suggests. Wouldn't that be REALLY fun!?

As for the battery, I get a solid day out of mine. I plug it in every night, for battery and because it syncs. I absolutley LOVE the phone and it was worth every penny of the $300+ I had to pay to break my other contract . :rotfl:

Anyway, we're excited about our trip but even more now that we have the iPhone. I LOVE your reports. Thanks for taking the time to do it!

For those who like a minute by minute report, I'm sitting on a bench in the middle of the Norway ride, waiting for the Norway movie to start. I almost always stay and watch the movie. Plus, a few more minutes to appreciate the "attributes" of the cute blond Norwegian CM who is unloading the boat - not that I'm interested in someone so young, of course...

Here we go into the movie...

Ah, the Spirit of Norway -- my FAVORITE!

On to China! I suddenly remembered it had been a while since the morning Cheetos, so I' m having lunch in Nine Dragons. Shrimp and pork spring roll, anyone? Honey sesame chicken? I usually remember about this time that Nine Dragons is way overpriced and not all that great, but I can sit down inside, which is nice.

No, I don't know when SE is opening. Does anyone know? It' a still got the boards up around it. I sure do miss it, though. I love to smell Rome burning...

I was thinking about you today while I was in class! :surfweb: Wondering what you were up to! The Norway shop! We have some great pics by the guy with the HUGE nose!

I saved 4.36 at lunch.

Yes, I love the big trolls! I panicked a minute because they have rearranged the shop and the troll is on the other side of the room now.

My fortune cookie is tri-flavored. Almond (regular), orange, and chocolate. Weird, but whatever. My fortune says,"Wise men avoid troubles while fools search for them." OK, I'll buy that!

I thought about letting people choose what I did next, but decided not to. Plus, I'd be tempted to make someone run all over the park, just for the hell of it. "OK, ride SE. Now see the France movie!OK, time for Turtle talk! Now, go shop in China..."

No, of course I wouldn't do that!!!

Have you ever walked around the little path that surrounds the lily pad pond in front of China? There is a beautiful little bridge with moss covered rocks and a little stream tumbling down into the pond. Very pleasant!

Orange? How did that taste with the almond and chocolate?

They had three different kinds of flavored dough - I don ' t want to think about how much time it would take to fit three little tiny pieces of dough together so that when they were baked each side of a trifold fortune cookie would be a different flavor. Isn't technology wonderful?

Anyway, I ate it in three bites and had a palate-cleansing sip of Diet Coke between bites.

Still waiting to go into the China movie...

Nine Dragons - it makes my mouth water just thinking about eating potstickers in China. :goodvibes

I had the same thought as the OP when I went to WDW last month with my iPhone for the first time. Live reports to the Dis! However, this being my first smartphone, I suddenly realized the drawbacks of being connected 24/7 to the outside world. Took me awhile to create boundaries for myself (eg. I don't absolutely need to check the baseball scores on ESPN while walking from ride to ride!), so I dropped the idea of posting on the go. Maybe in December I'll give it a whirl.

I stayed to watch the China movie and a performance of the Chinese "fiddle player", and then I browsed through Germany and Italy. I'm in time to see a 5:15pm show of The American Tradition, which is nice because I usually miss this for one reason or another.

Then, fans of 70s TV, we have a real treat. KEITH PARTRIDGE IS IN THE HOUSE!! That's right - David Cassidy is playing at 5:45pm, 7:00pm and I think 8:00 or 8:15pm. I'm not going to stand in line for a seat, but I'm sure I'll be able to hear him.

But first, The Voices of Liberty...

Yes, I'm realizing more and more that I would never do this unless I were solo. It does take a huge amount of time! I also wouldn't do it if Wdw were new to me - I can post from the Mexico ride loading queue or in the middle of Norway because I've been on those rides so much, and I'm not really missing any of the Disney experience.

The Voices of Liberty - just exquisite. They just dedicated the last song to our armed forces - a big round of applause and now they singing "America" and have asked the audience to join in. What a really nice and unexpected moment..can't think of a single cynical thing to say..

I missed the first ten minutes of David Cassidy, but he's singing his heart out. He can still rock it, apparently. Hi, David, I had your lunchbox!!!!

Thank goodness, David still thinks he loves me!

I'm just randomly wandering through Japan - love the koi pond - and Morocco, where Genie and Aladdin are out signing autographs. No sign of Jasmine, though. In the very back of Morrocco it feels very authentic.

I am going to browse over to France and have dinner in about 30 minutes. See you later!

I think I had the lunchbox, albums, posters, etc... he was my first celebrity crush! Blow him a kiss for me :rotfl:

Bonjour from France again! Lobster bisque again, and le poulet - that's chicken for you non-French speaking DISers. It's very good, but the restaurant is very crowded. This is the first time I ha en't been seated by the window - and it' a much nicer as a solo to be able to people watch!!
After dinner I' m just going to meander to the front of Epcot and maybe stay and see Illuminations again - or maybe not. Tonight I'm going to pack so I can get an early start in the morning. My plane doesn't leave until around four, so I'm hoping to go to MK and see the Cop and do Buzz. And visit Fantasyland, at least for the Philharmagic. See you after dinner!

Gosh, ya miss a day you miss a lot! Just caught up with your last two (or is it three?) day's posts of play by plays. Brown Derby sounds like it's worth the 2 table meal credits, yes? I'll take your word for it and go. Thanks for taking us on vacation. You're fingers must be very nimble on those keys... Have you seen or experienced any YOAMD surprises?
