We are planning a trip to WDW next Sept/Oct. Taking the boys out of school and want to rent a cabin. How comfortable is the Murphy Bed, anyone know?
We have an air mattress we could take. Just wonder if it would fit in the cabin?
Hi! We just got back from a 6 night stay in a cabin. LOVED it. DH slept on the Murphy bed and said it was fine. I don't think you need an air mattress. The murphy bed and the bed in the bedroom are "double" beds ...if you are used to at least a queen size bed - they sure seem small! It seemed a little "unromantic" that DH and I slept in separate beds, but why the heck should 2 adults cram into one bed when there are 2 available?? We enjoyed our "space"!
My hubby and I slept on the Murphy Bed in September, while the kids slept in the bedroom. We found it to be fine - just as comfortable as the double bed in the bedroom.
I agree with the others, I've slept in the Murphy bed a few times, and it's just as comfortable as any other bed. Plus, it feels a lot more spacious than any other bed in the cabin (especially the bunk beds...lol).
Have fun in the cabins!!!
P.S. The air mattress would fit in the space that the Murphy Bed would normally occupate, but unless you have a real affinity for the air mattress, I would say go with the Murphy Bed. Some people love air mattresses though...lol
The fold down from the wall in the cabin, where the TV, and kitchenette, and kitchen table all sit. The entire area is about 10' wide x 15' long, at most.
I suppose you COULD get an air mattress on the floor there, but indeed it will be
almost in the kitchenette area (linoleoum floor).
The Murphy is only a double bed, so sleeping two is a bit crowded.
Also, it just depends on how old the mattress is. I slept in one and
it sagged in the middle. Not fun, and apparently pretty old.

So glad to read your post! I was wondering what people might think if Dh slept in the other room during our upcoming trip! I'm glad that others have done this. (I mean how romantic can it get in the bedroom with 3 kids in there??)
