How cold is the 60's at night

We are going 9/29 to 10/5. I don't have a clue what to pack to wear in the evenings. What is the mid 60's like there? Is a light jacket good enough or should I bring my jacket lined with fleece (its not that heavy, just the old navy sweatshirt type one), and DD's heavy jacket? We've gone in June, and end of Nov. early Dec., so I know those times, but not sure about now. We are from Hawaii and we barely ever need a jacket here, but DD gets cold easily.

I can't believe we leave on Tuesday!!! DD5 still has no clue we are going to DL, thinks we are only visiting her papa in San Diego. I can't wait for her to wake up at Disneyland!! She is going to be thrilled.

It's SOOOO funny.... to people that come from places that are cooler, mid 60's is shorts and tee-shirt weather. People like me that are spoiled, if I'll be outside for a while, I can definitely wear jeans and a hoodie in mid 60's and be comfortable. Mid 60's is not too bad and you can get by with pants and a long sleeve tee or a hoodie or a light jacket. In the 50's is when I amp it up a little more

For me it is long pants and a light jacket , husband and son; shorts and light sweatshirts, daughter-i-l; a snowsuit with fur-lined boots.

We just got back 10 days ago, and it was about 66 at night. Still just wore capris and a t-shirt. At the most, I would recommend jeans and a very light jacket. You're moving around so much, and the area is so 'closed in', that you really don't need more than that!

That's similar temps to my Feb trip... We had on long-sleeved t-shirts and sweatshirts, jeans, and jogging shoes.

We freeze at DL in the 60s. I'd bring the warm coat for DD and closed shoes with socks, and pants. You can always buy coats and shoes there but it's expensive! Better safe than sorry.

I think we even went to Target there to buy my DD a coat one summer, for nights, and they didn't have any! Not sure if it was because of the season or because everyone else had the idea.

I know you were being cute, but actually there is a BIG difference between 60's at night and 60's in the day. 60's in the day, under the sun, I can be nice and comfy. 60's at night can definitely feel "cool". The sun makes a big difference.

60-ish is much cooler than what Hawaiians are used to. If you're standing around watching Fantasmic! and/or The Wonderful World of Color, you're close to water and it's chilly! Bring layers so you can bundle up, or not, as needed.

This is a great question, we will be in Disneyland Oct 2-6 and we are from Texas, specifically the Houston area. We have only been to Disneyland once 5 years ago in May and we did not dress appropriately. We froze!! We ended up buying pricey jackets in World of Disney. I am hoping that my plans of jeans/t shirt during the day with a jacket at night are probably good for us. Planning on a long sleeve t shirt during the Halloween Party. Does that seem right to anyone else who also lives in warm climates like we do?

Bring some warm clothes (at least for your top half), or budget for some purchases!


I have lived in WA for most of the years since 1987, and I FREEZE at Disneyland once that sun goes down. My husband only changes from shorts here when it's 32 or below, but there he has a sweatshirt on when it's nighttime. DS has to have lots of layers. Once that sun goes down, brr!

So someone from Hawaii should definitely be prepared with some warm clothing!


Also, if you are parade people who will be staking out a spot for more than an hour, again, bring warm stuff! Blankets to sit on, for instance. The ground isn't warm to sit on once the sun goes down, and just standing there can make you cold.

Great question, we are coming from Australia-a tropical part- and I am clueless as to what to pack. I think we will need everything from t-shorts to coats...

Having been in australia (qld!) During your hot season, I would pack a sweatshirt or 2 and short sleeve shirts. The shirts for the day, the sweatshirt at night. A pair of jeans is fine during the day, you likely will not be too warm in them.

Layers are your friends! Especially when you can store them in a locker for the day and retrieve them as needed. The DLR area cools off quickly once the sun sets, so bring a light jacket or sweatshirt. If you've been wearing flip flops, then shoes with socks will help. If you will be waiting a while for WOC, fireworks, or F!, bring another layer, since non-activity will make you feel colder (and being by the water for WOC and F! will feel cooler anyway).

I see you are from Hawaii. 60 is going to feel cold for you and your daughter. The one poster that suggested layering has the right idea. Depending on where you are staying making a trip to the hotel to gather gear for the evening events would be a good idea.

For a side note I was in Hawaii quite a few years ago while Hawaii was having record low temps. I was wearing a light weight cotten top along with shorts and flip flops. I was very comfortable even at the record low temp which was 57 for Feb -- if I remeber correctly. I saw so many residents that were dressed in long pants, wearing long shleved shirts or sweat shirts, closed toes shoes and strangest of garments to seen worn in Hawaii -- a heavy coat. I remember seeing residents wearing knee length wool coats. So I think what ever you are used to is going to effect how warm or cold you feel when visiting DL. I know when we return home to Washington state from spending 8-12 weeks in Hawaii each winter I am actually very cold for 2-3 weeks while I get used to the damp colder weather I am used to the rest of the year.

If you are using a rental or a home stroller for your daughter I would bring a light weight blanket/throw to put over her while she is in stroller. Also remember it gets cold on flights to and from Hawaii so having that small blanket will come in handy.

Everyone here can call me a wimp but I was COLD last year. I brought a couple hoodies and a couple pairs of jeans thinking it would feel the same as here in Orlando. I think it was colder but it was also that I was staying outside in that cold. I ended up at target buying long underwear, gloves, another sweatshirt, thick socks, ect. It also rained during our time there so that didn't help.

For our trip this year I have stocked up with Columbia warm gear. I'm going very prepared (so there will likely be a heat wave. LOL!)

I lived in Hawai'i for several years and grew up in Southern CA (4 miles from DLR ), so was used to warmer weather...or at least not too cold. I remember a few nights I was on Kaua'i and it was around 60 degrees a few evenings and I was freezing. I think someone from HI would find evenings in Anaheim chilly. Layering is an excellent idea...that 's what I do.

I get cold in the evenings in Anaheim, no matter how warm I am during the day. I usually stay nearby so I can return to the hotel and change. I wear capris or shorts and t-shirts with sandals during the day, then head back just before dinner to change into jeans and shoes or boots and add a sweater/hoody.

Mid to low 60's can feel a bit on the chilly side with the lower humidity we usually have in SoCal (Compared to Florida). I wouldnt exactly call it cold ... so jeans and a hoodie should keep you warm enough.
