How close to day do A&E Fastpasses start to free up.

Through either a glitch or my own mistake, we ended up with A&E fastpasses from 10 pm to 11 pm on May 1st for 6 of us (2 adults and 4 kids, 9 and under). I did FP+ at midnight 60 days out for 10 am, noticed when they were done that it had changed to 10 pm so I redid them again for 10 am and then a week ago realized they were still 10 pm. Maybe my mistake but who knows.

Anyhow, I know A&E fastpasses start to free up the day of or the day before each date but was wondering if anyone was noticing them freeing up sooner?

I can change 1 FP to an earlier time now but if I try to change more than one, no luck and with 6 it seems like it will be impossible.

10 pm may be a little late for the kiddos considering we'll up and out the door by 7:30 am and we're go all day folks at the parks.

I was able grab A&E fp the week before my trip. Keep checking! I check multiple times a day on the app for the coveted fp selections.

They don't release additional fastpasses. People might double or triple book and let them go closer to the date of, but you just need to be constantly watching to happen to catch one.

As mom2rtk mentioned, there isn't a "freeing up" of FP reservations closer to a date. You may be thinking of ADRs, when people release ones they don't want to avoid being charged a no-show fee.

Having said that, it is worth checking often, as people do move things around. For a party of 6, it will be tough.

When I said freeing up it wasn't implying more Fastpasses being dumped into the pot, it was about people changing plans last minute, therefore freeing up FPs that they had but didn't want anymore.

I've have not ever seen this as a general trend or rule. Just kind of a fluke if one becomes available.

There happened to be 2 A&E times available for tonight when I looked at 10 am. It's a 9 crowd level day. I was shocked.

It does happen but I think it's just luck to catch them. You have to be watching.
