How close is the Nassau Hard rock Cafe to where we dock?

Is it w/in walking distance? worth going to over eating lunch on board?

I can't remember exactly, but I think it was only a block or two. We ran in to it by accident but were glad we did so we could buy some souvenirs. As for the lunch thing, we are big fans of Hard Rock and try to go to it anytime we are near one, but when we were at the Bahamas, one of the ladies that worked in the gift shop area told us that they had rats running around there the size of cats.:scared1: :scared1: I'm not sure if she meant inside or out, but either way it freaked me out a little.

Yup, Hard Rock is only a block or two past the dock. Definitely walking distance. As for the rats, Sorry, didn't see them. It was actually quite clean inside, just as you would expect from a Hard Rock.

Yep it's very close. It was very clean inside (no rats in site anywhere)...and the staff very friendly. :goodvibes

I'm so glad you asked this question. I was wondering where the HRC was also. We make it a point to visit ever HRC we come across. We like the food, and I collect the pins. It's nice to know that it is in walking distance. Is it safe to assume that we will be able to catch a taxi to Atlantis from there?

I thought I should respond again and make sure you know that we never saw any rats at all. In fact, it did appear to be quite clean. One of the employees told us that they have rats the size of cats, and I'm not sure if they meant at the restaurant or just in the Bahamas. I just assumed she was talking about the restaurant. I definitely don't want to give the HRC a bad name and probably shouldn't have posted what the young girl told us without being sure of what she meant. My mom always tells me, "you know what happens when you assume....":rotfl2: Sorry!

It's funny that you should mention the rats because we were in Nassau on 12/1 and DD13 and I were walking down the street and DD told me to watch out, I looked down and there was a rat, flat as pancake (worse than flat as a pancake!!) and well-done from baking in the sun for several days too long. It didn't appear to be the size of a cat but it was rather large, I would have thought someone would have disposed of it since it was on the main sidewalk but I guess they just let them disintegrate!:)

grumpymakesmehappy - HRC is very close to the port so you'll be able to easily get a taxi to Atlantis, you'll probably have to walk back to the pier area but it's a VERY short walk. And if you face the water from HRC I think you can see the water taxis which is another mode of transportation to Atlantis. That's what we used, we bought our tickets ahead of time at the pier before we shopped but I *think* you can also pay right at the water taxi. Again, it's a very short walk from HRC.

You'll get a shopping map of Nassau in your Navigator and if I recall HRC is on Charlotte St (on the south end, closer to Woodes Rodgers Walk).

Hi There! It is only a short walk althought that walk will be quite interesting. Along our walk we were offered "free drugs" , a nice bracelet and of course all of the young ladies asking to braid my hair. I found this Hard Rock just as clean as I have any other. Same amount of souvenirs, mugs, pins, tee shirts. I do plan on making the walk again when we cruise again this summer.

thanks for posting op! I'll have to stop by there too. watching for those cat sized rats on the way:goodvibes I've been to Nassau before but don't remember seeing a HRC...not that I was looking for one ;) the one at Grand Cayman..you can not miss! It is right across the street from where you get off the ship:banana:
