How child friendly is Citricos?

I have an ADR at Citricos for my wife and I and our two children--9 and 5. Is Citricos child-friendly enough to make for an enjoyable meal or am I asking for trouble?

Unless your children are really restless in restaurants, I'd think age 9 and 5 are fine. We dined there with DS4 who tends to get restless. We used our own tricks to keep him occupied. But, Citrocos is kind of boring for children...there's nothing there interesting to look at. And it is the most quiet restaurant of the 30+ different disney restaurants we have been to....

Narcoosees, also at the Grand Floridian, is an upscale restaurant that is on the water and has an outside walkway that would give kids a quick break mid-meal. California Grill at the Contemporary is also on the monorail, and upscale....but it is noisy from the open kitchen so noisy kids would go unnoticed.

The Polynesian Resort, also on the monorail, has Ohana's which gets mixed reviews... but most love the food and it is much more casual. Ohana's food is delicious with skewered meats cooked open-fire, delicious salad, breads, and appetizers -- served all you can eat family style. If you have not been to the Polynesian, it's a fun resort to walk around at night - tiki torches are lit and it's on the 7 seas lagoon with views of the castle. On several nights, there's a welcome the night ceremony on the 1st floor of the main building (grand ceremonial house) at 6pm (double check time) that features drumming and fire juggling to start the tiki torch lighting....and Ohana's is upstairs from there.

Truly, the only restaurant at WDW that isn't accustomed to children (and now established a minimum age of 10) is Victoria and Albert's. All the other restaurants will have families with young children.

You just have to know your kids. If they are able to go to local table service restaurants without behavior issues, they should be fine at Disney.

On our Tour de Signatures in Fall 2008, we saw fewer kids there, perhaps, but we thought Citrico's was one of the more child-friendly WDW restaurants in the sense that the server was very attentive to the kids and paced the meal perfectly, not rushed and not so leisurely that the kids were bored.

My three boys really enjoyed Citrico's when we ate there last January. The service was excellent and the food delicious. In fact, my twins enjoyed it so much they requested it for their 8th birthday dinner when we are at Disney in March.

We had a late dinner ressie in November and there was a ton of kids there...the family next to us had portable DVD players with ear phones for the kids so they were really quiet but another table down from us had 8 adults and 6 kids so they were a bit rowdier
