I read this line from another post and am wondering if someone could explain. For us we will go once a year god willing for the rest of our lives. When ever we find a great chance mabey twice a year. This year we bought AP and are going in Nov and most likely June for 10th anv and DS birthday. I was torn between AP and 10 day Non Exp beacuse of school we only go 5-6 day each time.

We did have AP's the last time but managed to go 4 times in a year!!!

normally we buy the 10 day hopper plus.

It gives you 10 park days and 6 ( or7 not sure) water park and more options.

so depending on what else is going on at that time of year, we can make it last 3 to 4 trips.

we will go to the park for 2 or 3 days, Add to that a water park day or 2 and if they have an after hours part like not so scary, we will buy our tickets for that and go for the evening only.

it works for us!!!

You can breakup the park passes and the 6 water park and more days?

Yes you can.:thumbsup2 We just bought 10 day non expiring park hopping water park and more passes with 10 plusses through undercover tourist. We only will be going every other year after this next trip so we will get 3-4 trips out of this one. You can use the plusses even if park days are used up vice/verse:goodvibes and dh and the kids are thrilled they can now use it at Oak Trail to golf too!

So purchasing though disney does not give you 10 water park n more options? I thought it said you get 1 option per day you have purchased..
so 10 day= 10 water park n more options is this not correct???

Not sure what you are asking, but yes, you can buy them through Disney and if you get the plusses, it will be 1 plus for each day that you buy. 8 days + 8 plusses, 10 day + 10 plusses......

The 10 day non-exp are great for us because we do not want to go into the parks every day. This Sept we will only go into the parks 1 day plus MNSSHP. So we will only use 1 day of our pass. We may use a plus for a water park. Our 10 day will last at least 3 years. But we will occasionally get an AP for more frequent trips within a year. But with the price of gas, who knows what travel styles we will have?:confused3

I buy two 10 day non expiry tickets at a time, one is a hopper, one is not, We get one AP with the DVC discount, Use this for all the discounts. On the days we are going to Hop, I use the park hopper ticket, the days we are not, I use the reg ticket. These tickets will last me for 4 or 5 years, numerous trips. We go for 5 days at a time, we will attend the parks 4 of those days. We have never bought the plusses tickets. We have never done a water park.

Just to reiterate some of the previous answers, yes it is one for one now. The PP probably last bought them when you only got about 6 or so on a ten day pass. I think it changed this year, or late last year.

We thought about getting the ten day no expiration with the WPF&M tix this coming trip, which is a great deal because you can spread it out over multiple trips and it is like getting 20 days if you aren't dead set on doing a theme park each day. However, since we go in August, and already have ressies for January, and will probably book next July, we are going to take advantage of the DVC discount on APs this time I think and probably do the 10+10 in the future.

Thanks this is what my question was about and why I got confused.. so a 10 day will benefit my family.

I was the utterer of the "work those 10 day plus " tickets line. Here's what we did. We had 10 day non-expiry (non-hopper) plus tickets - so 10 park visits and ten waterpark/DQ visits.

Trip 1 - 7 nights
4 park days (1 in each park), 2 water park days (BB and TL once each), arrival day we just went to DTD at night.

Remaining: 6 park visits, 8 plus visits

Trip 2 - 4 nights
2 park days, 1 water park, 1 Disney Quest
On the waterpark day we ate at Ohana and watched Wishes from the POLY.

Remaining: 2 park days, 6 plus visits

Trip 3 - 5 nights
2 park days, 2 water park days, 1 Disney Quest

Remaining: 0 park days. 3 plus visits

We did non premium APs after that - but used those three plus visits for the next three trips - one water park or DQ visit per trip. I just used the last one last year - and we'd bought the original tickets in 2004. :thumbsup2

Next year, I'll buy the non-expiry plus tickets again because I need to reload on the plus admissions.

With three trips planned in the next 12 months, I'm torn between a DVC discounted premium AP and a 10 day non expire hopper ticket with WP&M. Price is pretty close with mousesaver/UCT discount. We'll probably end up with the NE ticket though as I plan to enjoy the resorts more this time. We'll see.

another option is to purchase non-premium DVC APs, plus the 10day WP&M.
use the APs & some of the WP&M days for the three trips you have planned this year.
use the 10 major park days & WP&M days remaining on the MYM pass during years when you have less trips planned.
of course, that would require a large "cash" outlay now, but might work better if you have less frequent, short trips planned for latter years.

btw, i have to say that we were really surprised how much we enjoyed having APs this year. the trips felt so more relaxing & unstructured when we could just go to EPCOT for dinner, or MK to go on POTC, without worrying about wasting a day on our passes, & trying to cram everything in once we entered a park:guilty: .

enjoy:)

The change was last August as part of the ticket price increase.

1 Day Ticket = 2 WPF&M
All other tickets, # WPF&M = # days

Thank you for all the info. I sounds like that is a great option for us.

May god bless you and your families
