I'm going to have students bring in baby pictures to post on the bulletin board. How can I protect them without damaging them?

1. I want to display them w/o using push pins or staples

2. I want to protect them when grubby hands are pointing on them/touching them but w/o laminating them.

I thought of putting them in ziploc baggies but that would make them hard to see and wouldn't make for the most attractive bulletin board.

Scan them and then print copies.

I suppose you could put them up with tape on the back, and then cover the whole board with a plastic film of some kind.

To avoid pushpins/staples I think I'm going to tape the backs of the pictures to a construction paper "frame" and then just staple the "frame" to the bulletin board.

The scanning would be a great idea but I don't have a scanner and I don't think I know anyone who has one.

Depending on the number of pictures you have to hang, you can use a color copier and hang the copy on the bulletin board (you don't have to worry about losing the original or having something happen to it)

OR

You can use page protectors and cut them down to size. You can staple the page protector onto the bulletin board and then slip the picture in.

Take apart one of those small photo albums from a place like Wal-Mart. Pics will be protected, and there will still be space for staples or pins.

I like this idea. I can probably fit quite a few pictures onto an 8.5x11 area so it won't be too costly at a Kinko's to make a few color copies.

Teaching is so expensive! LOL
