How can I find out when the Spring Breaks are so that we can avoid that time?

I think in most of GA it's the first week in April, but no idea about the rest of the country, and I believe they're staggered now? Thanks a bunch!

I would think that by April 18, most of the breaks would be finished. Park hours are shorter starting on the 18th, and the rates go down.

Hi snoopymom,
There are several exiting threads on the topic. I know the search function is often disabled, but if you can check back later in the evening, you ought to be able to find it. If I remember I will look it up for you tonight. :)

Disneydiz, just curious where you found out the April hours? We are going April 20th to 28th, and I've been waiting desperately
for the hours to come out on the official site. Thanks!

You're talking about elementary and high schools right? - Just to clairfy for others looking at this thread because I went to college in Georgia and my spring break was in March. I am traveling to WDW in march and I am trying to avoid college spring break.

Spring Break for most of Central New York State starts on Good Friday, April 9, and continues the week of Easter. It never seems to be the same every year.

Our spring break in Va is April 5 - April 9. And if you can, please skip this week because we are thinking about going. I know the lines will be horrible (we usually go in May), but we may go with a teacher friend and we are dictated by the schools out thing....

So, as many of you as possible need to switch your trips to late April or May.

:) :)

There is no standard "school holidays" in the US, as in England for example, where ALL public schools are on break at the same time. (FYI, the British spring holidays this year are from April 2-April 18th.)

Spring break can usually be anywhere from mid-March to late April, so if you really don't want to risk encountering Spring Breakers at all, skip March and April altogether. However, if you are just looking to skip the very worst of it, avoiding the week preceding and the week following Easter should be sufficient.

We have been going to Disney every Easter for the past 5-years. My comment on the hours is based on experience. The Easter crowd leaves by April 18. When Disney does post the hours, keep checking back because this past April they changed the Easter week hours about 4-5 times.

Avoid going from about President's weekend through the week after Easter.

If you want to avoid Spring Break's all together, I would stay away from WDW in the month's March and April. I think you will find that from the second week of March to the third week of April is when most of the schools let out for spring break. The first part of March is when Schools start their spring break, but only a few.:sunny:

My DD20 College Spring Break is two weeks long. She will be in WDW from 3/10 to 3/17.

Our April vacation for DH and DS15 luckily coincides (sometimes they don't) We have the week of Patriot's Day off (4/18 to 4/22) so are planning a surprise trip for DS and one of his friends to FW. I'm hoping since it's the week after Easter it won't be too crowded.

Yes, I meant public schools. I didn't take into consideration college, and I didn't think to check the park hours for a hint either. Thanks a bunch! ...sounds like the last week in April might be good...warm enough to swim, but not too hot or crowded...or am I dreaming, LOL.

Ontario, Canada spring break for elem and HS I think they all fall March 15-19th.

:sunny: Oregon's is the last week of March ... always and the State of Washington is the week of Easter.
