How busy have grad nights been so far? Any updates?

The select pass is still sold. It's the standard SoCal pass that's gone.

You're right. I had checked the Disneyland site to make sure I got it right, and still got it wrong. LOL! Southern CA Select is listed right above the words "Passports Not Available for Sale." Under that it lists Premium and So Cal AP.

And the Selects (still available for purchase) are the ones blocked as of June 9. It's the no longer available, only for renewal, So CA AP that has days through June. So it could be good. Just remember they're blocked because attendance is already higher on those days. And as mentioned, the days leading up to the blockouts could be crazy busy as people get in one last visit before the pass expires.

We were at the parks on Wednesday 6/1, Thursday 6/2 and a few hours on Friday 6/3. The grad night groups were noticeable but we didn't have any major issues. The only real issue was a school group busted into the WOC waiting area, Blue FP, kind of late and sat down practically on top of us! They looked to be an middle school graduation group, not a high school.

I agree! We are here this week. The parks are packed... But the grads are only a small fraction. The ones we've noticed have been very well behaved. The only impact is we have a paradise pier view room and the screams from Goofys Sky school can be heard late into the night!

We were there May 29th-June 2nd. The first two days we were there were nice, not too crowded, but, the other days were really busy with groups from schools. I'm not sure exactly which days were "grad nights" but, we were in Blue Bayou for dinner for my birthday on the 31st and the boats were so full of teenagers screaming, singing, chanting, begging for food, and taking pictures with flash, we were interrupted several times. I still had the best birthday, but it would have been nice to not have to hear what we heard for the hour and a half we were there. I remember once, in the Haunted Mansion, having to ask some teenagers to be quiet in the elevator. At that point, many others had had enough and spoke up, also.

I wish they'd go back to the overnight parties for these kids! Then they could go as crazy as they want without disturbing others. Two of my three kids went to Disneyland grad nights, one was in 2007--an overnight party, and the other in 2014 when they were let loose in the parks all day. The chaperones for the one in 2014 must have done a really good job of supervising them, because our son complained about them keeping tabs on them and requiring meet-ups, a break at the hotel, and phone contact.

We are here right now, and I will fully admit I had a terrible attitude about grad nights before arriving. I can now say that I'm glad I didn't let it derail our plans.

The groups have certainly been noticeable, and it has been MUCH more crowded than we are accustomed to. Though, we typically travel during late November/early December when crowds are MUCH lower in general, so it's hard to say how much of the crowding is relative to grads or just our perspective.

However, most importantly, and what I was most worried about, the teens have overall been MUCH more respectful and kind than we expected. We only encountered one rude, cussing teenager, in passing, and all of the others have gone out of their way to interact with my kids and in general be good citizens.

So, if you're okay with crowds, don't let the grads deter you. Tomorrow will be our only night that is not a grad night, and I'll have to update and let you know if it's any calmer.
