How bumpy is the Safari?

Hello folks, I have another "what can a PG lady do" question.

I haven't been on the Safari in AK in a while and I can't remember how bumpy it really is. I know the truck rocks back and forth a bit and the bridge shakes, but is it bad enough a pregnant lady shouldn't ride? I'll be 23 weeks pregnant at the time.

No spinning motion, no seatbelts or lapbars, just bumpy - is that right? I think I would be able to, anyone been on it lately?

We rode the Safari last week while we were there. I'm not sure how much "bump" is too much for you but it is a bit bumpy, especially when they speed up the vehicle to catch the poachers. You might want to sit this one out.

Have fun during your trip!!!!

It is quite bumpy but not for the whole trip. I would say that about 5 minutes of the trip could be uncomfortable for some people.

Don't sit in the back.

DH also mentioned not putting me on the edge but in the middle, closer to the center of the vehicle to minimize the rocking motion.

No bumpier than being in any vehicle on a dirt pothole type road... which there are many of in rural Texas and of which I had to drive on while pregnant with my kiddos. LOL

Honestly, this is one ride I wouldn't blink an eye about riding while pregnant.

I rode this ride when I was pregnant. I would absolutely NOT ride it again pregnant. It was WAY bumpier than I remembered or seemed to mind when I wasnt pregnant.

I guess it depends on how you feel. For me it just wasnt worth the risk.

We found it to be not so bumpy the first time sat near the front and extremely bumpy the second time sat in the back.

I too am going PG and the ride itsels states that it is unsuitable for PG ladies...unfair cause now my DH gets to take our dd for the first time and i have to miss it :( oh welll..

It depends on where you are sitting. Sometimes its like driving on a highway and other times its like driving over a line of potholes. One time it bumped me about 8 inches off my seat and I am a pretty big guy.

I rode this pregnant, but not very far along. When we were there and I was 32 weeks pregers we didn't do AK.

But then again the trip I rode it pregnant I also rode Mission Space and Dinosaor.

23 weeks might be pushing it, just for comfort reasons. If you do sit in the front. It really depends on how big you are by that point. If you aren't showing much or uncomfortable, go for it.

I do think it is bumpier in the back than the front. I skipped it when I was 16 weeks pregnant because the sign said it wasn't good for pregnant women and I'm one of those people who believe the signs. DH said it wasn't too bumpy but he was glad I didn't ride.

Last March, I rode three times during our trip, and the last time I was sitting in the middle of the truck in the middle of the row and it was very bumpy. My rear end was off the seat and I was holding onto my son to keep him down. It had rained all morning and we were the only ones in the truck, so that might have made the ride more intense, but I told DH that I now understood why a pregnant woman shouldn't ride this.

I skipped it when I was pregnant, some parts are really bumpy

Honestly I think its the driver cause some drive faster and its much more bumpy. And I agree with them its more bumpy in the back. But I'm not sure if you should ride it, some parts are so bad. Once I went airborn haha it was fun though.

I rode it when I was about 20-something wks PG...didn't bother me and the baby turned out fine...BUT I had a very easy-going pregnancy with no problems at all...AND if something had gone wrong with the pregnancy I probably would've blamed myself for riding...it's really nothing more than riding on a bus on a dirt road, but everyone has their limits

Your Best Bet Is To Se What The Ride Restrictions Are, If They Suggest No Pregnant Ladies, Than You Ae Better Off Staying Off The Ride....and Really, If You're Questioning It Now....why Take The Risk? A Five Minute Ride Or A Healthy Baby?

I have noticed they (the driver) will be more careful with a lap baby on it, so I would think they would too with pregnant ladies. I don't belive there is an restruction on it, but there might be a back problem one. It really depnds on how bad it is.

I personally can drive down the roads in Detroit and be ok, so it wasn't any worse then some of those. (there was this one really bad road I took to work daily that I swore would be what put me into labor. It wasn't.)
