How 'bout Big River??

I read these boards regularly and rarely see anything on Big River Grille. Some reviews please?!
Food...atmosphere...."kidability". A plus to F...let's hear it all!

Ate there 2 weeks ago for a late lunch.
The food was good, nothing too special, but not at all bad. Ribs were very good, meatloaf good/fair. I had read some bad reviews on this place, so I went in skeptical.
The beer sampler was excellent. The service, well, it may have been b/c of the odd time (2:00) we ate lunch, but they seemed understaffed, and the service was lacking (slow on refills and forever on getting the check).
Kid factor: we were seated in the section on the left, and there were at least 2 families there, with several kids. If not for the faint smell of beer, it was just like any other restaurant.

I love the fact that you can dine outside on their verandah on the Boardwalk and watch all the excitement! While we were there earlier this month, the strolling piano player came along and entertained us. His piano is on a bicycle! LOL!!

Drinks are great, appetizers are good, and the burgers are yummy!

Sitting outside might be the way to go. As CarolAnnk suggests, entertainment and people watching are possible. Inside is pretty dingy and somber--. Service has been pretty poor the last 2 times we went.
Meatloaf is quite good (made with hot Italian sausage as an ingredient)-- burgers are pretty good to. The Microbrews are what attract me--especially the Wowzer's Wheat. Were it not for that, I probably wouldn't go.
