And how many cars can you actually fit in it?
Ours is a three-car garage, but its actual contents are one part car, one part pure junk, and one part non-junk other (lawn care equipment, tools, sports equipment, etc.).
What's in your garage?
Don't know the exact dimensions right now, but when we were building, what they considered a standard garage was so small. We had ours widened and lengthened by 5 ft just for our two vehicles. We wanted plenty room for a utility sink and shelving. We also built an RV garage/shop 27'X40'. A lot of people we know don't even use their garages for vehicles as they have no outdoor storage for lawn equipment, etc. so park their cars outside and use their garages for storage.
No @kimblebee, basements are definitely not standard. We had an unfinished one when we lived in MD for a while, but we didn't use it (except for a catchall for stuff we didn't want or need) or like it even though it was a walkout. In the deep south there are none that I know of, the water table is so high that you would have a pond - not a basement LOL.
