How bad is the transportation from the BC to DTD/MK/AK?

We are thinking of staying at the BC next year because of SAB, its proximity to Epcot and well, we like the theming of the resort. Last year we wanted to visit the BC one night so we decided to hop on over after our late afternoon meal in DTD. We'll the busses were a nightmare. First, we waited for ever for a bus to come and then when it did, they're wasn't nearly enough room for everyone waiting to get on. Thankfully, we got on, but I felt bad for those that didn't; seriously, they probably had to wait forever again for another bus. Once we were on, I think we made four stops before arriving at the BC. I think it stopped at the Swan, Dolphin, Boardwalk, and YC. Is this typical? I know from the BC we can either walk/boat to Epcot and DHS but will we have to share busses with these other four resorts to get every where else? I'm actually only worried about the MK because we'll frequent that park pretty much too along with Epcot. Not sure if we'll visit DTD and I know we'll only go to AK once as that is our least favorite park. Any advice/suggestions? Thanks!

Is that typical? Yes. BUT....the buses from DTD to resorts, at certain times of day, can be nasty. There is always a huge crowd for the buses. It does seem that the buses to, and from, DTD seem to have the longest waits. But, these buses to tend to stop at all those resorts. You could get off at BW, if it stops there first, and then walk over to BC. That walk is about 10 mins tops.

I routinely stay at BWV...it's my home resort. I also stay at the Dolphin a fair amount. I've stayed at BC a few times as well. The buses aren't terrific, but they usually aren't all that bad. I find that the buses to MK and AK are okay...much better than the buses to DTD (for some reason). First thing in the day, and at park closing, the buses usually don't stop at all 5 resorts. One route is BW, S/D, and the other is YC/BC. BUT....during the day, all 5 can be on the same routes.
Being able to walk, or boat, to two parks is a huge plus for me. So, I don't mind the bus service all that much.

We've stayed at the BCV twice, but only in January, so our experiences may be different from busier times in the year.

I would say the buses to DTD are no worse than those from the other resorts. They are always a longer wait than the park buses, and longer trips.

We had no problems with the buses from BC to MK or AK. One morning we just missed the bus to MK, so we probably waited another 10 minutes, but that was the longest wait by far. During this time, they were stopping at all 5 resorts, so on the way to the park we stopped at BW then the parks; and on the way back we stopped at Swan/Dolphin/YC then BC. It actually seemed faster to us than all of the internal stops when we stayed at the BCR.

Again, this was a slow time of year, but the buses were never crowded for us.

We stayed at the Beach Club one time, and the bus transportation was horrible. I actually started timing the rides, as they seemed so long. I clocked 40 minutes to the Magic Kingdom one day, after getting on the bus. Leaving the Animal Kingdom it took us 45 minutes to get back.

It was so bad that when we start tossing around ideas of where we want to stay on the next trip (I'm always planning the next trip, lol!) that my nephew will say "Anyplace but that place with the bad busses."

If you love both MK and Epcot, I would suggest staying at the Poly. You can walk to the TTC to hop onto the monorail to Epcot, and hop on the monorail at the Poly to get to the Magic Kingdom.:thumbsup2 Those are both my favorite parks too, and getting to either of them from the Poly is a breeze!

Buses from DTD are a mess. I hate the bus stop there too. They combine resorts bus stops and you have to listen carefully to the driver to figure out if you are getting on the right bus to your resort. Next time I'm taking a taxi.

Going to DTD wasn't too bad.

It wasn't too bad to MK and AK. On the way to AK, they stopped at a water park too.

I stayed at BWI and I think the stops were BWI, Swolphin and then BC before heading to the parks.

We stay at BCV/BC all of the time, including 3 vacations there last year.

The DTD buses are always bad. They are packed, day and evening. Since BC is last stop on the loop, bus is usually full before it stops there.

MK/AK can be bad. In October, we had standing room only on the way to AK, a pretty long ride. We had SRO both going and returning from MK. The park crowds were moderate but I'm guessing that because it was during Food & Wine, the Epcot resorts were sold out and therefore, the buses were crowded.

Sorry to hijack this but is it possible if you have a car to drive from the BC to the Port Orleans resort and take the boat to DTD, would that work?
