How bad is the beginning of May, end of June?

We were planning a trip in October, but dh starts a huge project at work at the end of the summer and will probably not be able to get away in October now (or we're worried that might happen). So we've been thinking about going when school gets out so my oldest can spend his birthday in Disney World. :wizard:

Is the end of May, beginning of June really crowded? Is it unbearably hot?

Also, we were wanting to stay ten or eleven nights. When I tried to get a quote for a package at www.disneyworld.com, it said the maximum stay with that package was 8 nights. Does anyone know of a package for a longer stay?

TIA

May/June is a really nice time to visit - our first trip was early May and 2nd trip was early June, I preferred early May beacuse we got a lot of rain in June (although everyone told us it was unusual).
The weather is nice, and the crowds aren't too bad at all. I think May is a great time.

We always stay longer than 8 nights, but I book via CRO not online - it's worth giving them a ring

We went in May (around Mother's Day) a few years back and the weather was just wonderful! Very warm temps (mid to upper 80's), it rained one day, while we were on the monorail ... but by the time we got off, it was over! I swear, it couldn't have lasted for more than 5 minutes! The whole time, the weather was just gorgeous! Crowds were not bad, either. We're going back May 5-9 for an extended weekend and cannot wait!

Edited to add: we were there in June 2003 and it rained the whole entire time. We'd have a bit of a reprieve during the evening. We were told that this was not characteristic ... that rain lasted a few hours, tops. But, you know what? We decided to make the most of it, not let the rain hamper what we did and we ended up having a blast. The one E-night was miserably wet, a constant deluge, but there were so few people there that DS got to spend a good amount of quality time w/characters and lines were short, so we were able to just zip on and off rides!

We've gone in June the past two years (2nd week of June in 2003, 1st week of June in 2004), and both times have had torrential rains, lasting hours at a time. This year, we're playing it safe & going the second week of May.

Coming from an ex-Floridian (I lived in Tampa & Clearwater, so approximately the same weather), the end of June is going to be terribly hot, not to mention the crowds will be at their highest. I'd definitely say go earlier rather than later. HTH!
