I am considering going off Disney property, which would require us to take a cab, and take in the first night of Halloween Horror Nights this year. How bad are the opening night crowds? It's a Friday night in September. TIA

I'm hoping to be there first night :) But I've never been before so I'm afraid I cant help with your question.

I'm sure the guys here will help though - I've yet to see a question asked they haven't been able to answer

:thumbsup2

I'm always at opening night and it's fairly busy. Try to get there before 5pm and grab a place in line. I would recommend buying Express passes since the lines can get pretty long.

Thanks for the info. I am still trying to decide if I want to drag my 40 something old bones out to the event or not. I don't have kids, but I have always enjoyed a good haunted house.

HHN is definately worth the trip...believe me. Once you go...you are hooked.

From our experience First night, last night & everyone in between is Busy!:rotfl: On our first HHN visit,we took our time & managed every house, now it takes getting into the park before closing, then a military style plan to make sure we get all the houses & it's not unusual to wait in excess of 90 mins without an express pass! Some nights the express pass is nearly as much as the event pass & as there is 3 of us it is a non-starter. I had hoped the US may have added extra dates a la WDW but it doesn't look like it!
SD:thumbsup2

We were there opening night last year and with express pass it was fine, i don't think we waited more than 15 minutes. I'm sure I remember the regular lines being around an hour near the end of the night.

Right and that's why the Express passes are so valuable. You can do S & S with the EP's and not have to use them until the fourth or fifth house. Then...the lines grow very quickly.
