I'm curious if Jersey Week as bad as some of the websites say? I'm here now and we are planning a return trip that will limit the amount of time the kids are out of school. Thanks in advance for any information.

We haven't done it since 2008, but we loved it. It was a great week. One of best trips -- but I say that about every Disney vacation.

The weather was perfect and the crowds were pretty light.

I'm from New Jersey.

The last thing I'd want to deal with at Disney World...is a bunch of people from New Jersey.

We went starting Nov. 1 for a week last year and the year before. We found it to be very crowded - Jersey week, FWF, plus the start of the Christmas festivities (MVMCP). It seemed more crowded than the last week of August, which is when we have traditionally gone. However, we are going again this year! The cooler weather makes it easier to deal with the crowds. It was too cool for us to swim last year, but I think that's unusual for that time of year.

From Jersey as well.

Where is the like button on this one?

We always go the last two weeks of August. I have been trying to convince the DW to go Jersey Week as well.

What, may I ask, is Jersey week? A bunch of New Jersey folks going to WDW? Are there discounts and stuff?

From Mousesavers: “Jersey Week” – Usually the first or second week of November. The New Jersey schools have a teachers’ convention (2014 dates: November 6-7), which is often close to Veterans Day. Lots of people take advantage of this time off to pull their kids out of school for the whole week and add on the weekend before and/or after, taking this opportunity to go to Disney World in the “off season.” New Jersey is the single biggest market for Walt Disney World — you do the math!

A little weird that they say "pull their kids out of school". School is closed during the teachers' convention.

I have been that week and didn't even notice.

We went during that time last year and found the crowds to be much less then we usually go over spring break. If it was not for school, we would go that time of the year every year.

Our school district only has off three of the five days so if I went i would be pulling my kids for two days.

We haven't been in a few years. It was not too crowded and the rudest people we saw was this family from the south. The mother told the kids to push their way to the front of the crowd to get a better view of the castle show because these New Yorkers are all use to rudeness and it's the only way to get what you want around them.

The weekdays of Jersey Week isn't bad. But weekends are very crowded but that is because of Veterans Day weekend, last days of food and wine, and the art festival in DTD.

Like early October, Jersey Week used to be a great time to go to WDW. But, also like early October, lots of promotions have made this time more crowded. We stopped going Jersey Week about 5 years ago because the crowds finally climbed too high for us - but we are value season travelers. We don't like crowds.

Unfortunately our 1 time during Jersey week was when the hurricane was hitting so it totally skewed the numbers. People were changing their vacays on the fly...some came early, some stayed longer, I am sure many didn't even make it. But I think its a busy time of year anyways cause the parties are switching and the park decor, food and wine, marathon, is the art fest at downtown disney too? Lots happening.

I hope the crowds aren't too high. We are going Nov 4-9 this year. We have been the first week of Oct the last 3 years and the weather was just still so hot that we decided to see if moving it a month would cool things down a tad.

Honestly done that week lots of times and never had an issue. It is not that big of a state and it isnt like they are running tour groups down to WDW just because they are off school.
